Educational level
I'm really impressed with the posts I've read so far, many indicating high levels of education and well informed. I realize the membership covers a large span of ages which of course allows for more advanced educational levels. As a retired educator I'm just curious and do not mean to demean or embarrass anyone. My grammer sucks and was once rated to be at a 9th grade level. Also by my peers as too terse and military. One would never guess I have an MBA.

Hi Wendae,
Not sure if you're asking about educational level -- college grad here, if so.
My guess is you will find all degrees on the spectrum from doctorates to ladies with minimal education.
But as you as an educator will know better than any of us, skill in expression, while often trackable with education, isn't so necessarily. I've met grade school grads with natural grace in expression and PhDs who just barely got by the crude and erroneous level.
All the more so when it comes to writing skills. A variety of disconnects between brain and hand mean that some people who could charm your ear with talk are hampered in writing and vice versa.
I myself am adept at writing but put me in front of people and just try to get me to say anything coherent! No presence of mind whatever. So there you are.
Love, Robyn Katie

Sometimes what you see is not what is Reality. There is this one girl on another forum that if you read her postings, the first thing you think is she is a high-school drop out due to her bad spelling and grammer. In reality she holds a Masters in IT. She also is very Dyslectic which explains why her posting look like they do. On that forum we all know this and thus no one makes a fuss about them and when someone new does, they are PMed and told the reason.
Also many very famious people did not even have degrees. Just to name a few, Wilber and Orville Wright, Thomas Edison, Harry Truman.

Hi Wendae. I tend to agree with both JoAnn and Robyn about the posts not making the lady.
I also believe that we in this forum have all been searching for answers to questions that persons outside of our sphere of interest may not even comprehend as questions. In this forum I have found more real knowledge of life as a special girl, and the huge challenges it brings on a daily basis, than anywhere else.
Because of our intimate (no pun intended) knowledge and research into this area, I find that there is more knowledge here than most therapists would have at their disposal, and definitely more wit!
So go ahead, marvel at the depth of information available from your sisters, and the groundswell of support that is always available here.
Enjoy life, live life to the utmost

I agree with all of you. There is a wealth of information here for and about us. I did not intend to hurt or demean anyone. Much less insult their intelligence. I was trying to confirm what I already knew as you all do, that educational level has no bearing on our life style. Many years ago I had read that a study had concluded that transvestisim was associated with folks of above average intelligence and usually advanced educations.
In an idle moment I thought I'd throw out the question. I apologize for a hurtful question and will put more thought into future posts.

I have a BA & Masters degree. My wife says that I write e-mails like some people she knows from other countries--because I write them like "snail mail" letters. I include a salutation, body text, complimentary closing and my full name. I also tend to use proper grammar and spelling. So that's where our society has gotten--good grammar seems alien to people.

There were 450 in my high school graduation. I was 438th! I hated school and spent most of my military career going to schools and teaching. When I retired I then spent 24 years teaching and college administration. Funny how that worked out.April Rose wrote:I grajyated from high school. Exact dead middle of my class. Does that count?

Well, I paid for a B.A. in journalism, but I feel that I've learned a lot more since leaving school than I ever did playing 'reporter' in school. Of course, a lot of that probably has a lot to do with all the drunkenness and debauchery I managed to find myself neck deep in a lot of times back then, so take that with a grain of salt.

Yes, Michelle, it used to get me annoyed when I was in school, being told "Your education really begins after you graduate."
How true it was. I couldn't have dreamed!
But that's not to disparage education. As the bumper sticker says, If you think education is expensive, just think how much the alternative costs!
Makes you think ... gosh, all the years it took me to learn how to do that.
Love, Robyn Katie
