I have thought long and hard about this issue. My daughter recently turned 6, and is always full of questions...
My final decision has been to not actually tell her. However, I am still going to be myself. I wear my panties every day. I wear women's jeans and shorts, as well as pajamas. I have started wearing camis, on a regular basis. And I hope to add more tops, tihs coming spring (so long as the SO lets me).
I figure, eventually, she will figure it out. She is by no means dense, and she loves to help around the house. At some point, I believe she will begin helping with the laundry, and will ask her mother why there three different sizes of panties, in the wash.
I am not advocating for any particular solution, however, I don't see my approach as hiding it from her, but I'm not telling her outright, either. (Unless she asks.) I am simply going to be me, so when she does find out, I will still be me.
Hugs.
Looking for any advice/experiences on telling a child
