May I have this dance! ??

Post by Virginia »

WE are crossdresser! Today I was asked the question, " You are in a bar, (now the type of bar can have a bearing on this as well, a straight bar or gay/lesbian/TG bar) anyway you are sitting there dressed and lookin' good and with a friend or two and a nice looking gentleman walks up and asks you to dance with him! What do you do????????????????
My training partner got kinda mad at me when I said, 'NO way!"
She said that if we present ourselves a women and a legitmate offer by a sincere male is made, how do we get off turning him down!??? For me I had not really thought about it before, well in that respect. Now the things to think about. In a GLTB bar, maybe the guy is gay and has "read" you?? Or what if a lesbian has not read you and asks you to take a spin around the floor??
Your in a straight bar and a "good lookin stud" who has not "read" you asks for a dance?
I am really struggleing with this one, girls and I am looking forward to your replys!

Well, being heterosexual, I would say no is the appropriate answer for me. I have no interest in dancing with a man, no matter how nice or genuine he may be.

As to your training partner's comment: Sincere men get shot down all the time by GG so why would a CD have an obligation?

Of course this is all easy for me to say since I never go out dressed. :-)

Just because you present yourself as a woman, look like a woman, etc. does not mean you have to do anything you are uncomfortable with.

I don't know about you, but I've been turned down by women at a dance before. Nothing says they have to dance with anyone that asks, so similarly, nothing says a CD has to dance with whoever asks, man or woman.

Then again, I see nothing wrong with dancing with a man if you want to.

The object is to have fun.

If it's not a slow dance, and the guy simply wants to dance with someone, maybe. :-k Otherwise . . . . 8-[

Well with over 50 views of this post and very few responses, I guess those who responded must have said what I suspected.

That if we present as a woman then initially we have a woman's perogative to turn down an offer to dance and we do not have to make any explanation, just nicely say "No thank you!" AND SMILE WHEN YOU SAY THAT!!!
The fact that in a GLBT bar it could be two men dancing together even though one is dressed and presents as a woman. That bothers a lot of us I am sure, expecially being hetrosexual.
Same scene but a lesbian asks you to dance, now you have two women dancing together, whether or not you are "read." But you are a crossdresser and it is not like two women actually dancing together, but then again - who leads??
In a 'straight bar" I can more relate assuming you were not 'read" and asked to dance - then you have two hetrosexual men dancing together althought one is unaware of whom he is holding in his arms.
Thanks ladies and in difference to my training partner's berating me I will fall back on my feminine illusions of "No Thank you" and BIG SMILE!
As for the lesbian, I might consider it and before we take the floor gently whisper to her, "you do know I am a crossdresser?"
We are havng some fun now!!!
