Hi Everyone:

Sorry I have been away for awhile, but my father went to be with the Lord on the morning of November 19th and his body was put to rest on the 23rd. I will be in the forum intermittently for a while attempting to deal with this major loss.

Gelinda.

Oh Gee, I am so sorry. :( I lost my father in 1999, and all I can tell you is that the feeling of loss does get a little better with time. :( There are good times to remember that will replace the hollow you feel now. I know there is so much to do right now, and maybe others to console, but please allow yourself time for your own grief too.

Love, Carolynn

Gee -

May I add my condolences, please? I, too, lost my father 2 years ago, from cancer. While his death was expected, it was still hard to bear. The pain of the loss does ease with time. You are in our prayers. [-o<

Gee,

I am so sorry for your loss. I know the sorrow you must be feeling. When I lost my mom in 2002, it was tough. I always comfort myself knowing she is still close by (in my heart) and always will be just like your father will always be close by in your heart. I will keep you in my prayers.

Gelinda:
My thoughts are with you.
My dad passed on 12/18/03 at the nice age of 90 while I was helping him prepare his Christmas cards. He was fortunate that he had very little medical problems.
I still think of the moment he died and I will always.
He and I became more that father and son in the last 5 yrs of his life. We became buddies. I have missed him from that time on.
One thing that I learned from him was that as he said it, "celebrate my life, do harbor and negative inner feeling of guilt about any of the events the past. I was not perfect, but tried to do my best and never feel bad or guilty that we had arguments or disagreed with each other it is a part of life"
