Well, did you see it?? LifeTime TV "A Girl Like Me!"
Can you identify? Can you testify?? Do you feel what Gwen was all about?
I can't stop crying long enough to type this. We are blessed with such a gift and oh, so many people want to hurt us for it!!!!
If you have it then be proud of it, share it, be gentle with it, love it, grow in it and be thankful for having it!
It is the pioneers that take the arrows and some are fatal. Don't ever, ever forget those of our sisters who have gone before us to take those arrows and to show us the way.
No, we are not freaks, we are human beings with a beautiful gift!
Go forth, woman ------- and BE!!!
Love you all!

Hi,

I too saw the program on Lifetime, and had also recorded it for viewing again in the future. Yes, it I feel is a realistic mirror of what one feels to be of the wrong gender. I think whoever did the screenplay wrote an excellent script. It is of the girl Gwen, who was murdered a few years ago in a sex hate crime.

Actress Mercedes Rule did a great job of a mom of a transgender child. I do not recall the fella who acted as Gwen, but he had a lot of courage just to act in the role also.

I hope those who did not see, have an opportunity to view it again on the Lifetime channel, as there were no punches pulled on this story.

J.D. Pardo played Gwen.

Well done show. Made me cry too.

I believe it airs again on Sunday. 7 PM eastern time. http://www.lifetimetv.com/movies/origin ... likeme.php

Would have been better without the commercials. Hell, I recorded it and still with fast forward the commercials were too long.

Hey, Kimberly!

Welcome back from your vacation - I hope you had a safe and wonderful trip?

Now - regarding the movie!! I desperately want to see it, but I don't have cable or satellite either! What's a girl to do? Simply this: I'm having my best friend tape the movie for me the next time is scheduled to be shown.

Surely you know someone with cable who would tape the movie for you?
