My daughter appears to have had a miscarriage this morning, or had a
blighted ovum.
She was cramping the morning, went to the doctor's, had an ultra sound, and the womb sac was empty.
My wife went through it with her first pregnancy, thus was able to empathise with her.

Sorry to hear about that Donna. It is good she has your wife to help her with dealing with it.
My sister went thought that often and has never been able to hold a pregnancy. This actually is not uncommon and most are able to have normal pregnancy's afterwards.

I had the same thing happen when I was very young. In between first and second child, which are not Angel's boys. I'm sorry for the lose and, Donna, I think you are the most lovely. (Please, not to offend anyone else). My heart still bleeds when yours does.

My wife had the same thing. The egg sack was empty and in reality it was a false pregnancy-there never was a fetus. Disappointing but a while later she concieved our 2nd child with no problem.

Thanks for the responses.
My daughter seemed subdued at dinner Saturday. Apparently she was worried because they hadn't heard a heart beat yet. Her doctor said it may be to early to hear one. I looked it up on the Internet, and learned that the heart doesn't usually start beating until after week 8, and may still be hard to hear even when using doppler.
Hopefully the next time things will go better, and she'll be married by then.

Sorry to hear this Donna. I hope she recovers (emotionally) from this soon. Although it's sad to hear it happened to your wife, I guess it's good that she can help.
My heartfelt prayers to you and your family.
Sincerely,
Kyra

Hi, Donna -
We are sorry to hear this, too, but all things happen for a reason, whether we agree with it or not, and whether we understand why it has happened or not.
Perhaps, as you said, the next time your daughter gets pregnant she will have had the wedding first - - which is what her original plans were, I believe? Didn't you say that her plans were to have a house first, a wedding, and then a baby?
No matter the order of her plans, the loss of the baby is still upsetting, and we hope she is able to overcome the emotional and physical stress soon.

Thanks ladies.
I reckon she'll be alright for now, but she still has a D&C to go through soon, which will bring it all back.

Donna I am so sorry. The loss of a child no matter what stage of life is devastating. Please cross your arms over your chest and squeeze really hard as this is a hug from me.

Such a sweet heart felt thing to say Lisa and I ditto the sentiments to you Donna.
I had 3 pregnancies only carrying one to full term.
It is difficult to say the very least to go through and it is not forgotten but, we support you in spirit and understanding.
Thank you for sharing with us such a heart wrenching experience.

Hi Donna
I can completely relate to what your daughter must be going thru. I tried vey hard to conceive before my first and only pregnancy. At my 8 week checkup I was supposed to hear the baby's heartbeat. Not only wasn't there one but the doctor said the fetus had disolved in my womb. He wouldn't even give me a D&C. I felt like a haunted house for quite some time.
However, as Silver Lady said....some things happen for a reason. My husband had a drinking problem and the way he behaved during this crisis made me realize I already had a child...him! I stopped trying to get pregnant as I didn't want to bring a child into this situation and 2 years later we were divorced.
My heart goes out to you and your family

Sorry to hear this Donna....One of my grand neices miscarraged on her first time. They tried again later and this time they have a very sweet little girl. She may be depressed but it is not the end of the world and there will be other chances to have a baby.
