I have recently begun crossdressing again. I am MFT, heterosexual, in a loving relationship with my wife of 35 years. I first dressed in my stepmother's clothing as a teenager. My wife has let me wear her clothing in the past which I did for sexual excitation during lovemaking. That has waned in recent years. I recently talked her into going shopping with me for female clothing after beginning testosterone therapy. She was a good sport about it and went with me one weekend recently and we picked out some nice items.

Then she had difficulty with seeing me actually wear them around the house. So we have a deal of she will accept me as I am; just don't talk about it or be dressed female in front of her. So I will let her get used to it, which could take awhile. She does let me have any of her clothing that she is now too small for, which is cool.

She has also found that when I've gone clothes shopping with her for her that I am much more interested, instead of bored and tired like I was in the past. I ask her questions about clothing and make-up and am learning a lot; we can have intelligent conversations now about things female. She has recently allowed me to paint her fingernails and toenails which is enjoyable to me.

I don't have a desire to dress publicly in female attire. I do look forward to her warming to the idea of talking about my female dressing and seeing me wear my female clothing. For now I just dress up at home when she isn't home.

It's unusual for me to be the first to say so, but welcome indeed.

It's good that you're going slowing with your wife's acceptance. She may eventually come around and your patience is what will make it happen, if it does. The phrase used here is "baby steps." It's good advice.

The long view is that things change, so ride with it and try, very gently, to help things go in the direction that you desire. Just understand that your desires may change too. Simply being here and reading the stories of others is incentive to review your own path and perhaps look for branches that you hadn't considered before.
