Hi all from dallas of Florida!

Post by Dallas »

Hey I'm dallas. I'm a dude. I'm 17 living in Ocala, Florida, USA. I'm a junior in high school. I love metal, punk, goth, and grunge music. I have a grunge band called Pheonix. I absolutely love video games like Fable, Guild Wars, and Warcraft III.

I came here because I feel like no one around me understands me or wants to try to understand me. Except for my sister of course. She's so awsome, I can talk to her about anything. She let me wear one of her skirts lol.

But on the other hand my mom totally rejects crossdressing. She pretends to be accepting and understanding, but in reality, she isn't. It makes me mad, really mad. Because she was like "...well, your not going out to buy womens' clothes are you? Why don't you stay a straight male, a straight normal male?" and crossdressing/gender identity has nothing to do with sexuality. I wish there was some way I could talk to her to make her understand better.

But this seems like a cool forum. I e-mailed a mod from another site, which happened to be an adult site. You have to be 18 or older to register; but anyway, I asked him where a good site for teenagers would be, and he refered me to this one.

So where should I start posting?

Hi Dallas

Another welcome from Australia too!! Nice to see someone who have recognised their "gift" at such a young age and have acted on it. Most of us dabbled around in our early teens then got married and didn't resume again until middle age!!! I know!! I'm already 60 and did nothing between 16 and 40 !!!
You are welcome to visit our forums in Australia too!!

Enjoy the ride

Hello Dallas, -wel- to the forum.

Try not to be upset with your mother's lack of understanding. She's just trying to be protective.

Maybe you can print out the following web site and have her read more about being transgendered.

Dallas Hi and -wel-
sometimes we older uns take some time to get used to new ideas and being your mum I am sure that she will be really worried about how you are seen and dosen't want to see you getting hurt. maybe if you could get her to sit down with you at the computer you could get her to read some of the posts on this forum to try to help her understand. Just a suggestion. Wishing you all the best

Ok thanks guys. I think I will. But she won't let me buy anything. It's not like I'm going to school or out in public dressed. I don't see the issue really. But I suppose my mom has her reasons.

Dallas,
As a Mom I can say she is probabally trying to protect you from what others would think and she probabally has her own fears and even misconceptions about crossdressers. The best piece of advice I think any of us can give you is to sit down and talk to her. Be as open and honest with her as you can.Its not always easy and can be quite difficult at times, but keep an open line of communication with her. Be easy with her and try not to get too defensive. This may not be easy for her and will take some time to get use to and remember we are all here for you

hI YA dALLAS FROM DOWNUNDER,

I feel it is very important for you to have people around youwho can guide you through your journey. It is hard enough just being a teenager these days, people to busy to listen or talk, because the world has become a busy and complicated place.Life does'nt have to be chaotic we humans make it that way.

I have read what the others have said, and I am in agreement, please read and copy out if you can the gender dysphoria in children brochure that Donna sent you, perhaps give that to mum as well to read.
Take things slowly with yourself, read as much as you can,if you live near a library see if they have this book,Trans Forming Families Editor Mary Boenke.

If your intersted in any other forums that purely support the crossdresser, and spouses etc our site is www.chameleonswa we're newly formed
