Hi Carol Ann, yes I think I've already been taken over by the ink...I have all the old press type letters from Jeannie's store room and my hands are always ink stained so we're a real pair.

thanks for the welcome :-)

Hi Tink,

Welcome to the forum. I usually tell people "I hope you like it" but since you're known by some of our members, that's a no-brainer! 8)

I'm glad you decided to join us. You'll have to give us a little more insight to Jeannie's wacky/strange/beautiful mind. :P

Hugs,
Kyra -wel-

Tink,
Do you ever fuss at Jeannie about her dress as you seem to be very ok with it. I ask only because my wife has to look me over everyday to make sure I am proper and lady like. By that I mean no dressing like a teenager or a street walker. Today I was very surprised as she took a picture of me holding the roses she gave me for Valentines day. Speaking of hands, it took me a year to get the ink out of my thumb only 40 or so years of picking hickies. Give Jeannie a hug for me as she is a wonderful person. (--)

HA! Carol Ann, you are also a printer I have discovered by reading through some of the forum posts! I am not Jeannie's SO (just to clear that up) we are just really really good friends and I love her to death so I have no problem with whatever she wants to wear. She likes the 'age inappropriate' days when she can really let it loose. But those balance out with the Italian Mom look. (She'll kill me for that one :-))

Now, I have a question. How does one post a photobucket pic to a forum entry? I am taking a quick studio break and wanted to add a pic of what I am working on today for some opinions.

I hope you are all having a beautiful Saturday!

Tink,
Oh so sorry I didn't mean to imply anything about you and Jeannie. Now as far as uploading anything into this forum I am not the person to ask, hell I can not even figure out how to get a file down to size to update my photo on this forum as it has to be at least 6 years old. Give jeannie my love and NO I will not wash up for her tonight. (--)

Oh, Carol Ann!! No apology necessary! I love Jeannie. I am having a tired night. I feel out of it and am just on the couch with the laptop, a blanket on me and am going to watch the film "Lady in the Water" I heard it is a fabulous fantasy film. I love films like that. Hope you are having a wonderful day. hugs~ tink

Oh! A night on the couch sipping tea with Mick and watching a movie! It must be nice to be independently wealthy! I baled on dinner with my sister and Mini at her place because I had to finish running some letterheads for tomorrow morning. I'll pay for that big time!
It was that tire service call and the vacuum cleaner fiasco that set me back today! I just got upstairs and there are three messages from the Warden. No way I'm listening to them. I'm dead woman walking! Hugs

PS Hey Carol Ann. Just loosen up with buck and buy a hikey picker roller you cheapskate! I have a good one for you Carol Ann. I was at a fourth of july party last summer and a woman there used to work in a print shop. I asked her what she did and she said"I was a stripper" I said"Gee. That's too bad. You can't make any money stripping today" There was a guy next to us looking at us with a look of confusion on his face. It was great!

Was that a hickey picker roller joke??? I must have missed it! I used to be a hickey picker roller stripper in my younger days. Unfortunately it does not play well on the old resume, so I had to lie and say I was an ink stabber!
Whatever!?
Love ya,
Virginia

Hi Virginia
I'm off to work to pick some hickies! When you run a press and the plate has a solid printing area and a piece of lint or dirt sticks to plate or printing blanket it makes a small blemish in the finished product which is not cool. We call those hickeys. You have to stop the press and pick them off the plate or blanket. You can purchase a fuzzy coated roller to replace one of the ink form rollers that contact the plate and it will remove most hickeys. Hence the name hickey picker roller. A stripper is the person who assembles the negatives on masking sheets before they burn the press plate. Most are out of a job because of computer to plate technology. So take your mind out of the gutter Virginia. What were you thinking Hon? Hugs.

Love
Jeannie

PS. Tip of the week ladies. Never try to give a printer a hickey Virginia. Printers hate them. It's public enemy number one to us! I get goosebumps when I just hear the word!

Well I won't be wishing you many hickeys then or Happy Hickey Day or Merry Hickey! However the stripper part - well I am sure that you could make someone's day by stripping!
Love you and the printing lessons!
