Hello

I’ve been dressing in secret for years. Picking up odds and ends here and there and then getting rid of everything whenever I thought someone may be starting to realize what I was doing.
I’ll be turning 40 soon, though people tell me I still look like I’m in my mid 20’s, and for the first time I’m starting to buy my dresses more openly. But I don’t know any other ladies to help me out so I’m hoping this community will help me along the way.

I have to admit... I don't know anything. I don't know the language, I just learned how to get sized for a bra. Any help in learning how in how to fit in would be of great help.
I feel like I don't fit in anywhere.

You've come to the right place, I think if you have a browse and some of the stories and other posts you'll find you fit right in here.
You are not alone, and the people here are great.
Welcome to the forums, also the chat room is a great place for a ...chat.

Welcome, Lily. You've found a wonderfully accepting place to talk about your experiences dressing and the process of figuring out what it means to you. It seems approaching forty causes a lot of us to take a more serious look at ourselves (the day before my forty-first birthday I came out to my HR department as I prepared to live my life full-time as a woman!)
Do chime in on a thread or two, start one of your own with specific questions, stop by the chat room one of these days, and when you're ready give us as much of your story as you're comfortable with.

Welcome Lily,
Fret not, as we all started somewhere and you are starting here. Most web site that sell cloths have a size chart to help out. be bold and move forward.

Hi Lily,

to the forum.
If you don't mind my asking, what's the closest city to you?

Welcome Lily!!!!
We may be able to help you out with some of your questions!

There are a lot of your sisters here who have "been there done that!"
As for bra sizes, there are two parts, one is the band size (length) and that is the measurement around the thickest part of your chest. GG's (genetic girls) take three measurements around their chest, top, middle and bottom, but "we" don't necessarily need to do that unless you are having a custom bra made! Say your chest is 40" then that would be the size in the bra. The second is the "cup size" that is, can I say, how much "boob" you want to express!

It is my considered opinion that you don't want your boobs arriving anywhere 5 minutes before you do! A common mistake that a lot of CD'ers make. Bigger is not necessarily better, so stick with a B - C or at most a D cup depending on your physical size.
You will usually see a tag inside the bra next to the hooks and in large print it will have something like 38B or 36A or 40D. The first number is the "band" length (your chest measurement) and the letter is the "cup" size.
The bigger person you are the better able you are to wear a C or D cup.
If you weigh 140 pounds and are 5'6" tall, for God sake don't wear DD or DDD's for reasons you will learn about later.

Thank you everyone for making me feel so welcome.

The Biggest City near me is NY but it's about an hour away.

Welcome, Lily, to our family. I know there is a lot of material and information already posted in this forum and in reding it you will find a lot of answers. You will probably even find answers to questions you didn't know you had.
Also feel free to post in ongoing threads and start one. Also chat is a good place to go. You never know what might be being discussed in there.
Again welcome.

Hi Lily,
Nice to see another New Englander here.
I don't fit in anywhere either but that's okay at this point.
