Lovely to meet you

Post by LaceyRor »

Hello! I'm pretty excited about finding a CD forum, as I've always been a closeted crossdresser. Before now, I've only told my girlfriend about it. I think it will be good for me to have a chance to talk with others like me.
Like I said, I've kept it a secret since I was a youngster - but recently my girlfriend has encouraged me to join a forum, maybe even go out with some others for me to gain confidence. At first I wasn't sure if it would be something that I'd be into, but the idea of it has grown on me. There's no real reason for me to be secretive about it, especially something I enjoy. I used to only dress up by myself in lingerie, but now I'm wearing dresses and skirts;heels and boots; make up and I'm styling my hair to be more pretty. I've been thinking about giving myself a girl's name too; I wish that I had pushed my boundries earlier!

I've never been able to explain the reasons why I do it. I just love the feeling of dressing up pretty - having a hidden feminine aspect of myself liberated and in the driver's seat, rather than ticking along in the background - if that makes sense.

Anyway, that's my ramlbing intro over. Hello :)

Hello Lacey

Welcome to the forum, I think you will find us a friendly bunch.

I like you was deep in the closet to all but my wife who, as it happens, hates Susan and barely tolerates her.

Three years ago I went for a makeover and that was a revelation, this started me on the road to where I am now. I never believed I could be convincing but I go out a couple of times a month now and have never had a problem. I have shown some of my pictures to GGs and they have all been very complimentary (see posts elswehere in this forum)

We have a fanatastic group here in the North West of England. I will be taking part in the fashion show at Sparkle ( http://www.sparkle.org.uk/ ) in just over a week's time. Come see us if you get the chance.

Regards
Susan

I know some things.

Hey Lacey, and welcome to the forum!

Our stories are quite similar, the first person I ever told is now my ex-girlfriend, then she convinced me to join this place and, generally, made me a lot more open about my crossdressing.

Welcome, Lacey!

It's wonderful to hear that your SO is encouraging you to explore your gender identity. Do remember to keep an open dialogue with her, and don't be surprised if she discovers that while she's intellectually supportive there are still some still some emotional triggers associated with your discoveries.

I think many of us discover that once we've given ourselves permission to explore, it rapidly evolves until we find our comfort level. Taking your feminine expression out in public is incredibly liberating (and more than a little intimidating initially.) You've found a great virtual community here. I wish you luck in finding a similarly wonderful local group to connect with.
