Hi Norma Jean--
Yes, nice to meet you. I like seeing family members show up at our local support group, and it's good to see them on here, too. My trans girlfriend has two daughters, 15 and 13, and they cope with this to varying degrees. Some weeks they're better with it than others.

Hi Norma. welcome......... it is courageous of you to seek information and thoughts from us here a CDF. Your Dad must mean a lot to you as I'm sure you are to him. For me, being CD has been an asset in my life allowing me to have feelings and understanding not common in a man's world. The road here though, has many turns and hills that are hard on one's mind and a friend is a true gift. He's still your Dad, and that will never change....... God Bless!

Norma, you're a great kid to take the time and energy to get to know your Dad's total person.
All the best, Rikki

Hi, Norma, and welcome.
I have raised 3 daughters and a granddaughter. In looking back, being a cd has helped me understand better what they have had to deal with. And in discussions with them about it since they are out of the house, they comment that it was a lot easier to talk to me about thier problems than their Mother.
I am not saying that is true in your instance, but I know it has been in mine. My daughters and gd agree.
I am impressed that you want to find more information and I am sure you can find it here.
I have one daughter who is in here, Tommie. Sometimes you can catch her in chat.

Thank you for taking the time to seek out somewhere that you might find an answer or two - or at the very least some interesting questions worth pondering. Your father is lucky to have someone like you who is willing to take the time to understand him better.
Best wishes to both of you,

Welcome from one Coloradan to another. I'm sure you can get answers to your questions here.
Is your Daddy a member here? If not perhaps you could encourage him to join. If he is looking for support, answers or a sounding board this forum is the place to be.
Just let your Daddy know you love him, regardless. I think that would go a long way in letting him know that you accept and support him.
Love,
Alana

Hi. Sure we can offer some help, but Dad should be able to help too. Did he come out to you or did you find out on your own? Does he know you know?

Hi Norma Jean, Come to the chat room in the evening and lets chat. Lots of the girls are there and would be willing to answer your concerns. Wish I could tell my kids, but I don't think it would work out for me, Good luck
