I've been a long time reader. I finally decided to join.
I am a early 40's crossdresser. Holly smokes am I that old?

My wife and I have been dealing with this for the whole 20+ years we have been together. Sometimes she is cool with it sometimes not so much. Either way I am blessed to have some sort of acceptance.
Just wanted to say hi.

I'd love her to but she had an interaction in the past with another couple that has left her a bit on the skeptical side.

Hi, Lee, and welcome to the Forum!
Sorry to hear about your wife's interaction elsewhere, but ask her to take a look here . . . I'm sure she'll find much better company here than 'there' (wherever that was)!

Hi Lee,
My wife is OK with my crossdressing. She is more excited about it when we are shopping, trying on clothes together and putting on each others makeup. She gets really nervous when I get dressed up and panicks at the thought anyone would find out including the kids. I try to keep it at a level she enjoys it but it is always a compromise.

Vivian,
My wife is very supportive and at one point was an active participant. She just seems to want to keep it at arms length these last few years but she still either lets me buy things for Lee or she actually does. She has told me she hates it now and always has to some degree but would never think of asking me to stop. Like that's possible.

She can't for the life of her figure out why I'm attracted to this cross dressing thing. She has always been deathly afraid it would get out someday that I like to do this and ruin my reputation. I'm getting to the point were I don't care but she would kill anyone that ridiculed me. Real protective one, that wife of mine and I love her to death.
So needless to say I am still trying to figure out her mixed feelings and actions towards my cross dressing. The ebbs and flows of all this is making my head spin. I can't bitch too much about it because I've been around these boards long enough to realize I have a great situation none the less. I miss our girls nights , who knows maybe they will return in the future.
So I take my opportunities whenever possible, when she is not around. Our compromise for the moment.

Hi Lee--
Welcome to the forum. You are able to see that your compromise situation is more on the positive side. Still, it has to hurt that the two of you have moved backward on the issue. She sounds like she's being as fair-minded as she can at the moment.

Lee,
Thanks for your reply, Its really new for my wife since I came out 2 years ago to her. She is pretty supportive, but I felt that I had to hide it for the first 14 years of our marriage. She says there will be ebbs and flows, but we love each other and support each other. I love to dress up and it is really important to me, I dont feel it is in any way wrong, immoral or bad in any way. At times however, I wear my feminine clothes underneath my other clothes which helps when I feel that my wife is uncomfortable. You and your wife have been together longer than we have and I hope everything works out for you.
Hugs Vivian

Hi Lee
Welcome, I am sure we can help you come to terms with this gift. Look on the bright side with your wife. Mine is totally against this and much to my regret she has nothing but negative comments to occasionally chip in. Feel free to ask questions - someone here should have an answer.

Hi Lee!
This forum is a very nice place filled with lovely people and I am glad you are here with us!
We would love to have your wife join in. I understand, though. My wife seems to be reluctant, also. I think she feels she has nothing to add.
Welcome!
Andrea

Hi, Lee, and welcome to our family on the internet.
It is good that yor wife is supportive/accepting.
My wife of 35 years this month knew before we were married although it has only been the last year that she has seen me totaly dressed. Comments that she had made earlier concerned make up and I think were a miss communication.
We would love to welcome your wife also as I think there is much her she would benifit from.

Hi Lee
My wife is very much like yours. She tolerates and participates in my crossdressing but wishes I did not do so.
We live in a rural area so she is concerned about impact on our children and ourselves if I am found out.
I also feel sometimes so what, this me and dress regardless of what people think. I do take risks but I do not think it fair to my family to CD in public locally.
