After looking at various CD communities this one piqued my interest above the others so I decided to register. ;) I started my fascination with women's clothing at a young age, from 10-13. I used to sneak my sister's and moms heels, pantyhose, and dresses to wear them when no one else was home. I can go even further in time and remember randomly painting a nail at 4 because I thought it had nothing to do with being a female/male and was just another hobby anyone could do. After age 13 I just lost interest and never tried on women's clothing up until recently when my gf and I got a little drunk and started exchanging secrets to the point where I admitted I used to x-dress at age 13 and how much I admired the uniqueness of high heels and whatnot.

Afterwards she convinced me to put on one of her sun dresses, pantyhose, some awesome Mary Jane style heels, and her dirty blonde wig. From that point it felt like I found a missing piece of myself and quickly began picking it up as an occasional hobby. It felt good to have an additional thing to be passionate about and oddly enough coincides nicely with another hobby I am passionate about (cars), weird combination indeed. While I do not mix the two, I do get the same satisfaction dressing up as I do working on my cars. About a month later she convinced me to go with her to get a simple pedicure, manicure and get my eyebrows waxed in a way where I looked more acceptable as a male or female. Eventually she introduced me to waxing rather than shaving and I found myself enjoying the clean look as a male but having nice legs as a woman. I am definitely enjoying this as a hobby and think it is nice to enjoy women's clothing while still being a straight male. Anyways looking forward to getting to know you all and learn some new things about shoes(I just love wedges and heels lol), make up, and carrying myself better as a gender illusionist.

Welcome, Arielle. There's a guy over here called Grayson Perry who did a programme about why men CD. He rides a motorbike as well as dressing up. I guess stuff with motors is classic "guy" stuff and dressing up is "girl". The combination is how a lot of CDs are (maybe)...

Hi Arielle, -wel- to the forum.

My question is, is really a hobby, or an expression of your inner self? It's definitely not a hobby for me.

That is an awesome combination and interesting to know many CD'ers are like that.

I think it is a combination of both. You do have a valid point, being passionate about something usually does reflect one's inner self. I have had dreams when I was kid that I was a female in a past life or something lol. I think my mannerisms show it is as well, my gf said I am argumentative like a woman and takes things to heart/does not let things go like a woman as well... Thanks for the warm welcome, think I am enjoying the community here already. ..^..

Hi, and -wel-
I like your description of yourself as a gender illusionist, and I doubt if Grayson and I are the only motorcycling cross dressers

Trust me I do, I have broken my back for her plenty of times and we both have became better people because of each other. Unfortunately she is moving to Australia soon :( to reunite with her family for her daughter's sake. She says she is going to show me as much women stuff as possible before she leaves. If we continue the with the dynamics of our relationship (nothing to do with my cross-dressing mannerisms whatsoever btw) it won't end good for either of us.

I do enjoy it here, I love the warm/mild atmosphere and how everyone is extremely friendly/forgiving.

Sorry for the late response btw ladies, did not expect any more responses after a few days. :)
