Finally letting myself come out uncensored

hello everyone!
my name is Brian and i'm 23 years old living with my amazing girlfriend here in san jose. i moved from arizona where i was raised a protestant christian. my family has just found out that i crossdress. i feel like my life is in a huge transition period and i wanted to connect with a board where i would be understood and accepted by others who may have gone through the same thing i have. thanks!

Welcome to the forum! And welcome to the Bay area. I take it your girlfriend also knows, then? Be prepared for some culture shock in adjusting to living here. It's worth it, though, as the atitudes in this area toward CDing are more tolerant.

welcome to the forum. Bay area must be one of the coolest places in the universe, I lived in Walnut Creek, near San Francisco for a year, loved it! This forum is a great place, and I hope it will be really useful and enjoyable for you, in what you say might well be a period of change.

It is certainly good that you did, as you are off to an early start to being who you really are.

unfortunately right now my mom and dad have been very stand-offish and judgemental. my mom asked me the usual questions over the phone about a week after they found out.
"are you gay?"
"when did you start?"
"do you wear wigs?"
etc etc. i was really encouraged until i talked to my dad. he didn't respond well and i ended up hanging up on him. we haven't talked for at least 4 months but we are starting to write back and forth.

Britney, Welcome, welcome, welcome. Nice to have you here . I have a great deal of repect for you to come out to your family, must have been pretty rough. Glad to hear you are communicating with your father. He'll come around, if you are writing to each other now I bet by Christmas he'll be calling you.
