Hi, I'm Kathryn in Florida

I was an 11-year old boy when I realized I wanted to be a woman. For more than four decades, through three failed marriages, I longed to be female and struggled to be male. Once my fourth and final wife was assured that I did not want gender reassignment surgery, she suggested I attend the 2000 Magic Castle Halloween gala as a woman. If anyone guessed, we’d just accept praise for good costuming. But everyone we encountered thought I was really a woman.
So, starting Nov. 1, 2000, I lived as an ordinary middle-aged woman in Burbank, California. All the time. 24 hours a day. Every day. For two years, I was Kathryn Cleve. I went everywhere from Von’s grocery to the Farmer’s Market. I got a job as the “office girl” at a drywall company. In the bright light of day or the neon night, everyone took me for an overweight, moderately attractive woman. Joy was astonished how easily I took to being female. But, I had always known I’d be good at it because I had felt like a woman for forty years. I you want to read my illustrated story: http://kdcleve.blogspot.com/
