New to CD Forum

I was so happy to find this site. I am in a serious relationship with a CD and I only found out a few months ago that he was interested in it. He has never told anyone before me, and I have helped him explore this side of himself. I feel ok with it in general, but there are times where I feel overwhelmed and I have no one to talk to about it. I am confused because I want to support him and love him for who he is, but I have some difficulty once and a while because I'm attracted to men, and when he's not a man, I am in a very different mind frame. I am so interested in speaking more with other SOs and CDs to learn how to deal with this situation better. This is all so new to me and I am, as I said, completely confused and overwhelmed. But I love my boyfriend and I want to deal with this.

I'm also glad you joined. I think this is what makes this board so special, that so many SOs are willing to join us in "the Great Conversation." Sometimes, it's not easy maintaining a line of communication between men and women or between SOs and their mates but, if love be present, the task is made somewhat easier. The first desire is always to love and to be loved in return, especially when we're emotionally vulnerable. This is true of CDs and it's also true of SOs. I hope you find the support you seek here, Geri. Please invite your better half as well and remember to ask SilverLady or Sharon for a permission to access the SOs-only area of the board. We (CDs) don't have access to it so you can rant there if you need to and ask pointed questions if need be. Of course, you can speak glowingly there of your man, too!

One thing to remember is that your BF was born this way, and that it wasn't a choice like one would choose a hobby. Accordingly, it is a part of what makes him who he is, in fem mode and in guy mode. Stopping is an extreme rarity with this characteristic, as very very few can stop.

Try to have fun with it, and keep an open line of communication.

Welcome and I hope you can find some enlightenment here! I am fond of saying that a GG can do a lot worse than having a relationship with a crossdresser. My SO says she loves it because it gives her the best of both worlds. She likes the idea of having a girlfriend to share with and shop with and then mumbles something about guy stuff but I tend to ignore that part

Thanks for your responses! Virginia, that is so funny because that is one of the things I love about it. Before I found out it was such a battle to get him to shop, but now that he told me he is so excited about it! I love having him as my shopping buddy! And I get to practice doing pretty make up which is fun. He is going to be joining as well. He needs some support especially because he has never left the house as a woman. I think he should, and so I want to try and find a local community of CDs to help him feel better about himself. He still thinks it's something he shouldn't be doing. I told him if it's part of who he really is then he needs to do it and be ok with it. Thanks for all your advice! I appreciate it!

First I'm late welcoming you as I haven't had a lot of time to myself lately,
so a big warm hug from me to you .

I will tell you what was the very best thing my wife ever done was go to a Tri-Ess meeting with me and she got to talk with the wifes that were there and all her question were pretty much answer.

Since the kids are all gone and we are retired I can dress everyday and she doesn't mine who shows up for breakfast Carol Ann or her hubby .

But now she makes sure when I dress I am lady like at all times, now I will say she doesn't like making love to Carol Ann as she saids she feels uncomfortable making love with a women.

So as my sister Virginia said " you couldn't do better then to love a CD" well something like that

Hi Geri, take it from me, he'll be more of a man then most other men + he will do windows and dishes and love to go shopping with you. You may have to tell him to back off every so often if he starts to by too much... but he'll slow down.
