The President's nanny

JAKARTA, INDONESIA—Once, long ago, Evie looked after “Barry” Obama, the kid who would grow up to become the world’s most powerful man. Now, his transgender former nanny has given up her tight, flowery dresses, her brocade vest and her bras, and is living in fear on Indonesia’s streets.

Donna I seen that this morning. And we think we have it rough here. Of course some may depending on where you live and who you live around. In general I have found people in general more accepting or tolerating than I ever thought they would be. But still keep my eyes open and stay aware. It just takes one hot head.

I am a physically male person that likes to wear feminine clothes at times.
Just trying keep a balance for my self along with keeping my wife and kids in mind.

One of the nicest, most accepting, experiences I've had buying stuff was from someone who came to the UK from Malaysia (I think she was ethnic Chinese though). She made a point of saying that we were lucky (here in the UK) to be able to be "free" to do what we want to do.

So it's not just Indonesia. The cleric saying that it's OK to harrass and humiliate transgenders is just appalling. It amounts to declaring open season in them. We are lucky in the UK...

Bill and Ted: That's us, dude.

We complain, but have it so much better than many other places. Sure things could be better and we will try to make them better.

Hopefully as we work to get things better here our sisters in other parts of the world will benefit.

That's hard to read about. I would have liked some comment from the White House, but that's Obama's business. It's an interesting story, and a sad one--all those years of having to go back to being male.
