I have not done as much research as I guess I should on this, but I have read some on the "two spirit." My father's mother was half Comanche and one of my earliest memories of her, well, I guess my only memory was visiting her once when I was six? or seven? She lived outside Levelland, Texas as I recall. She put me in a type of "potato sack" dress that she had made and tied a bonnet on my head and had me sweep the floor in her house with a homemade broom. The floor was dirt.

This little tidbit had been repressed by me for, well I guess most of my life until I found this forum and the girls here recommend some deep self=therapy and "Total Recall" and that (among) several other repressed milestones in my life came to the surface and it has been wondrous!!!!

Being that I am now a caregiver as well - uh!? hello??!!! love it!!!!!!!

I guess, basically we have been around for, well for longer than Pat Roberson or Jerry Falwell or Focus on the Family would even want to admit!

Are we great or what!!!!!
