More Myths About Crossdressers

Hi Girls

Found another site dealing with the myths about crossdressers
http://www.transvamp.com/ask/Myths.html
I liked the comments about how nothing is ever black and white when it comes to gender identity or sexual orientation. I've always believed myself that there is no such thing as a purely straight or gay person or purely feminine or masculine. I was told by a therapist once that we were born from both a male and female and that it was totally normal to possess and express both masculine and feminine qualities.
I'm interested as to what everyone thinks of the entire article. Do you agree or disagree with all or any of the author's points?

Hugs

I agree with the author, albeit he/she goes out on a limb, (IMO) with some of the statements made that are myths.

Love Darlene.

Thanks for referring us to the article. I thought that it was well-written and did not find anything in it with which to disagree.

Are these "myths" common among the general population? These myths are presented as very black and white with no middle ground. Try adding the word "SOME" in front of or as part of these "myths"... Maybe then they wouldn't be "myths". One word can make so much difference...

I agree. Some of those rumors are unfounded, but most of them have some basis. I mean, I don't know that many crossdressers personally, but I can be firm when I say that, while the vast majority of us aren't those stereotypes, some of us are, and, somehow, they draw more media attention then the rest of us. Not that I disapprove of mediatising of our activities, but hasn't it occurred to anyone that the media always shows things under a negative light?
Long story short, the black sheep are always spotted first except in total darkness, where noone can see.

Sadly the press persues the old easy sterotypes.
Realistic discussion is rare :-k
