re: clockwork orange. I agree, IMO that movie was a mess and too long.

re: seinfeld. What was it about? Nothing! That is what made it funny. I look forward to the DVD release this Fall.

I'm still trying to sort that one out myself. It's a show about...nothing. Even the lamest stand up-based sitcom has some consistent plot. "Seinfeld" had nothing. I've tried watching it with friends, but it doesn't do anything for me.

Hi girls,

I think Seinfeld is hilarious. Jewish humor is one of those things you either think is funny or you don't. Personally I love jewish humor. It deals with being character flawed. And the correct use of the language. It is sometimes very understated and subtile.

Let me give you some examples of jewish humor, that is not from Seinfeld, but a comedian whose name escapes me at the moment.
"son walks into the living room and see's his father watching a basketball game and says 'what's the score?'. The father replies '67 to 61'. The son then asks 'who's winning?' and the father replies '67'."
or
An older gentleman walks into a bar and sees an attractive woman at the bar and sits by her. He then asks her if he could buy her a drink. She replies "sure, but I want to let you know right now I'm a lesbian" He replies to her "really? how are things in Beruit?
Now to me that is hilarious. However if you don't find the misunderstanding of the language as funny, it will leave you shaking your head wondering what is so funny. Seinfeld is much like that. Also the characters themselves are really the underpinning of the show. So without taking the time to watch enough episodes to get to know the characters, you might not find it all that funny. There are many things in the show that are continuing themes.

Love always,
Elizabeth
