Leaf -- an appendage on a plant that allows transpiration, and manufacture of chlorophyl for the plant. Also a plank that extends the length of a table to accomodate more diners and food. And then, there is the complaint, "Will you just leaf me alone?"

Pyre -- A conflagration ofter used to refer to an altar where fire is used to send an offering to some god or other. Or as in funeral pyre, a method of cremation.
