As for me, I'm just hoping that the words "vacation" or "house" enter my vocabulary within 10 years. But of course I would need the words "new job" to enter my vocabulary first.

Not to be a downer, but it seems that every time I log in, someone else is buying a new house or going on vacation. And all I can think is "why can't that be me as well?" I'm happy that everyone is doing well and living very comfortably. But sometimes it hurts to log in, knowing that it will be a long time before I can really live anywhere near as comfortably, no matter how hard I try. :(

I went to college. Unfortunately I picked the two WORST professions to enter in terms of what happens when the economy tanks. Let's face facts. Retail pays squat. And at 33, retail is no place for me.

I've been preparing like crazy for this police test. And I hope I do well. But if not, then there's nursing school (if I can find a way to pay for it)

I just want to earn a normal living again... * sigh * :?

Lorna, when I was thirty three, six years ago, my life was in a complete mess (this was just over a year before I met Ed). I was a single parent with a very poorly paid retail job, living in furnished rented accommodation. I'd screwed up my marriage and lost many friends through having an affair with a married man, was claiming benefits and hitting credit cards hard, to survive.
When I met Ed he had a failed marriage and failed relationship with a kid from each and both women chasing him for maintenance payments, the taxman chasing him for owed tax, lost his house and owed thousands in negative equity, County Court Judgements for unpaid bills, no car, no home and no job!
It would be understatement to say the last few years have been hard but we have managed to sort our lives out...So Lorna I have to say to you...don't be down, you have your whole future ahead of you, you are an intelligent person, I know things will get better for you 8)

The construction they are doing to the steet just oustide my building is making the whole building vibrate at times.

Therer still at it. It is so bad that I can feel the ground shake every time there heavy equipment does something. This is going to go on tell at least the threw July. I wonder how I will survive it!!!
