Cross Dressing in Music

I just noticed that in the Beatles song "Oh-Bla-Di" the last lyric is
Desmond stays at home and does his pretty face
And in the evening she’s a singer with the band.
I musta just missed that for years. As a collector of music, I had thought of putting together a collection of CD'ing songs. Already have "Lola" and "Wild Side". Anyone know of any others?

U2 did a song called "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me", that was used in the soundtrack to "Batman Forever". There's a verse that goes
Dressing like your sister
Living like a tart
Don't know what you're doing
Babe, it must be art
You're a headache in a suitcase
You're a star
I always thought that had to do with performing in drag, but I could be wrong.

Hi all,
Yeah....David Bowie and rebel rebel, what an awesome song. For me, I absolutely adore the Madonna song "do you know what it feels like for a girl". The opening lines are exactly what I think. (especially the dance version)
(spoken:)
Girls can wear jeans
And cut their hair short
Wear shirts and boots
’cause it’s ok to be a boy
But for a boy to look like a girl is degrading
’cause you think that being a girl is degrading
But secretly you’d love to know what it’s like
Wouldn’t you...... What it feels like for a girl".
Yes I would!!!
Love Richelle

Right On! I Love it! I never even thought about a few. Lou Reed, Yeah that's a classic. But I never even thought about Rebel Rebel & U2! I just read the Lyrics to both. I'm starting to wonder about the Beatles LOL. hmmmmmm.

There was the song from "UP In Smoke"
My daddy he don't like me cuz I wear my sisters clothes
Ba na ba ba na ba ba ba ba
He caught me in the bathroom in a pair of pantyhose
I don't remember the name of it, or any other words.
Love always,
Elizabeth

Hey, Richelle.
Those words are a bit of dialogue from a 1993 movie, "The Cement Garden". Here's the entry from IMDb:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106535/
I've not seen it, but it definitely sounds like it worth investigating, and it's available on VHS and DVD.

Hi Cami,
I thought it was funny when the discovery channel was using "Take a Walk on the Wild Side" to advertise it's Animal Planet Channel. I think that is what it was. Anyway, I remember thinking, those stupid grey suites who approved this have no idea what it is about.
It was not long after that the song was changed.
Love always,
Elizabeth

from the beatles' "get back":
Sweet loretta martin thought she was a woman
But she was another man
All the girls around her say she’s got it coming
But she gets it while she can
