I know that we can all come up with a few of them. For me it all started once Hollywood started making movies out of every old TV show & cartoon they possibly could.

I can't believe they're doing a Fat Albert movie!! Played by Keenan Thompson... #-o
http://imdb.com/title/tt0396592/

Following the same fate as the Flintstones, Josie & the Pussycats, and Scooby Doo, I see...

And then next year we can look for Dukes of Hazard, and Bewitched!! Ugh... #-o Oooooooookayyyyyyy... :roll:

What are some of the worst movie ideas you have seen? :mrgreen:

Dumb and Dumberer: The title says it all. They couldn't get he original actors to do a sequel, so they hired new ones to make a prequel to Dumb and Dumber?

Anything with Pauly Shore.

Say It Isn't So: A young man is about to get married, then he finds out his bride-to-be is his sister. Only she isn't. :shock:

I recently bought a movie out of the "cheap DVD" bin. It was titled "The Demon Within", though a search on IMDb revealed it was originally called "The Sculptress". I bought the movie because the premise sounded interesting, and because two of the stars are Jeff Fahey and Patrick Bauchau, but they're both wasted here. Katie Wright attends college in SF on an art scholarship. She's apparently a brilliant sculptress, but every time she puts her hands in the clay, she makes these horrible gargoyles. Fahey is her neighbor, a serial killer. He's an actor who quit to become a priest, then left the church because of his unholy urges. He has a complete theatrical wardrobe and makeup kit, and he makes himself up as different characters to go out into the city to kill. Bauchau is the lech of an art teacher. Both of them seem to want into the girl's pants. The plot is convoluted, and the dialogue is laughable. After one viewing, I took this movie to the Record Exchange to trade. As a consolation, they gave me almost as much as I originally paid.

OMG I can beat you all. I am the man, or woman, of bad movie Ideas. Here are some:

Killer Condom- Name speaks for itself, but read the plot at this site...
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116791/

Monsturd- About a killer lump of sh*t, literally. Been wanting to see this one for a while, very hard to find. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0364527/

Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter- Another hard to find movie I wanna see, not supposed to be offending. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0311361/

Class Of Nuke Em' High- I friggin love this film, but the plot is funny. Where kids grow pot too close to a nuclear power plant and weird things happen to them. Great flick. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090849/

Rock N' Roll Wrestling Women Vs. The Aztec Ape- Wow. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056201/

Rock 'N Roll Wrestling Women vs. the Aztec Mummy- Same as above. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058304/

The Nostril Picker- Actually about a guy who is a loner, so he gets the power to turn into a girl so he can murder all the girls who killed him. I wanna see this one. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0273896/

I know that I know more, I just gotta think.

Hey, no fair digging into the Troma vault! All of that stuff is bad.

Anything written, produced, directed or "presented by" Roger Corman.

Ditto for anything with the words "Wes Craven Presents" in the title. Notice that I didn't say "directed by", though the "Nightmare on Elm St." series ran out of steam after the first couple of pictures.

On that note, Freddy vs. Jason. Worse still is the idea that they're working on a sequel, and talking about writing in Ash, Bruce Campbell's character from the "Evil Dead" series. :shock:

John Carpenter's Escape from L.A.. The original Escape from New York, along with his other early works (The Fog, The Thing, Halloween) atands the test of time. but the sequel is a dog. Woof!

Hey, only 2 of those were Troma movies. :)
P.S. Troma is no bad, I am a fan of their films. 8)

Anyway, Some of WES CRAVEN PRESENTS movies are good, I am a big fan of the original Wishmaster, and I did enjoy Dracula 2000. He did direct more movies other than A Nightmare On Elm Street, he directed Scream, a decent film, Shocker, a good movie, and many others.

In case you did not know, it was officially announced that Ash was NOT going to be in FVJ 2. http://www.latinoreview.com/interviews/raimionash.html
I honestly think it could of worked. Steven finding the Book Of The Dead in JGTH, being logical. Would of been kind of fun to see Ash whoop Freddy and Jason. Would rather see Ash vs. Elvis (Bubba Ho-Tep)

I don't know, I enjoyed the hell out of that movie. :mrgreen:

I know it won't get made, but if done right Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash would be worth watching.

But to absurd movies, what about any of those Pokemon movies or the Garfield movie or the Scooby movies, thunderbirds.

Good Boy! - The film about dogs being space aliens who are so much more of a superior race compared to human beings, even though they lack apposable thumbs, any real sense of color vision, and the ability to build the very space ships they fly in on. Yet they can't figure out why mankind has "enslaved" dogs here on Earth (hmmm - that's a tough one to figure out). :P

Of course, the only thing that can top these old cartoon and show remakes are the films that are now made after video games. Anyone remember the box-office sludgefest entitled Mortal Combat? Oy!

Hi all,

It seems Hollywood is "autophagic": it eats iself. (Anyone remember the music group Pop Will Eat Itself? Well, it looks as though, in Tinseltown at least, it is the case that popular culture feeds on its own body... find a formula, beat it to death, then reformulate the formula, and beat that to death. Oh well.)

Bad film ideas? Here's a few.

Plan 10 From Outer Space ("You humans are still so stupid!");

Slasher High Class Reunion (Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, and other balding, serial killing cronies, get together--Big Chill style--to pine for their youth and reminisce on the good old days when their respective body counts were higher than their IQ's.);

Hardly Dying (Indestructible cop John McLean teams up with RoboCop, Steve Austin, Harry Callahan, and James Bond to thwart an evil producer who's masterminding a plot to disseminate intelligent movies throughout the world.);

Rememberance of Things Past (A 238-part mini-series, based on the work of Marcel Proust. Produced by Merchant Ivory.);

Gilligan vs. Jaws (Finally, the gang of maroons gets off the island. But are they safe?);

Once Upon a Time in 2001 (The Man With The Harmonica meets up with Jules Verne, who builds him a time machine so that he can go save a widow whose terraforming arboretums on Jupiter's moon, Io, are threatened by the unethical real estate speculation of a homicidal computer.);

Seinfeld: The Movie (A movie about nothing.);

Star Wars ("A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..." Oh. Wait a minute. That's been done, already.);

Clothes Encounters Of The Third Sex (Priscilla--now Queen of the suburbs--ponders "what to wear, what to wear.");

Bush (A penetrating documentary exploring the origins of the Bush family, deep in the Kalahari desert. Produced by Micheal Moore. Directed by Oliver Stone. Soundtrack by Bruce Springsteen and Bette Midler.);

Flight From L.A. (A nightmare vision of a dystopian society where lawless, leather-clad rebels, flee California after a killing machine from the future seizes control of political power. A sequel is already in the works: "I'll Be Back, Too.");

The Jetfersons (Full-length cartoon feature about the life of a spage-age, upwardly mobile African-American family.);

The Characters (Still no plot details. Starring Kevin Spacey, Dustin Hoffman, Meryl Streep, Steve Buschemi, Janeane Garofalo, Al Pacino, Matthew Broderick, Nicole Kidman, James Woods, Christopher Walken, and that guy on TV who keeps asking, "Can you hear me now?");

The Undergraduate (wherein we discover exactly how Mrs. Robinson really came to be that way);

A Pack o' Lips Now (Director's Cut of Coppola's famed Vietnam epic, with the Rolling Stones concert scene fully restored.);

The May Tricks (Tag line: "Think reality is real? Think again. Ask these prostitutes exactly what happens in the spring.");

The Really Really Odd Couple (Another remake. Starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Directed by Kevin Smith.);

Heh. Enough for now, I guess. :P The list of possible bad movies is endless. As to actual films, I rarely saw a movie I didn't like. My tastes run the gamut from A to Z (and from A-grade to Z-grade); I'm a film junkie, I swear.

Love,
CJ

Believe it or not I am one of those who used to enjoy the television series CAR 54. I thought it had good "sick" humor and always got a laugh out of it.

Then, along came the movie. What is worse, it had Fran Drescher in it from THE NANNY which was also one of my favorite sit-coms.

But talk about pathetic! This movie was so bad it could not even have won the Fickle Finger of Fate Award (remember Rowen and Martins Laugh-In?) Certainly proof that if you jazz a movie up, give it modern rap music and stick in what is supposedly humor--even though it is sicker than any Aids virus, and you still have a FLOP!

"Car 54, where are you?"

My copy of the movie is in the trash can.

Along these lines, there are certain movies that should have NEVER been made. I give you "STREET FIGHTER", starring Jean Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia as M. Bison (sadly his last movie, but he will ALWAYS be remembered in my house as Gomez Addams).

Any movie that is based on a comic book character and they try to take it beyond the original story line.

Any movie starring Pauly Shore, Tom Arnold, Rosie O'Donnell, Rosanne Barr, or Jim Belushi.
