His band,started in 1967 was named after a 17th century man who was a major pioneer in the moderanization of agriculture. His unique style has endured to this day and he and his band still play 100 dates a year around the world. Born in Dunfermline,Scotland August 10, 1947 he raises exotic felines and many varieties of hot peppers. He at one point owned forty three salmon farms and was one on the largest producers of farm raised salmon in the world. He sold off most of his salmon interests in the late 90's.
