Hi all,

Inthe spirit of another threados "quote of the Day", how about a who said? game. I'd start with:

Who said:
"No one in this world ... has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of plain people."

Hugs,

Henry Louis Mencken

"To be nobody-but-yourself in a world which is doing its best to, night and day, to make you everybody else -- means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting. "

Good show, CJ. I have often seen that Mencken quote "edited" with "American public" instead of "..plain people."

I don't have a clue for your contribution. By the rules of the game (which I have just invented) a correct answer must be given before a new quote is contributed.

I reckon I'll need to give a hint. His first name was Edward, born 1894.

It took some googling (which was cheating), but I got it. I would never have found it otherwise. It is not his style.

I won't say who, since I cheated. I don't want to spoil anyone else's fun.
