Meg, of http://youcancallmemeg.blogspot.com/ fame has been asking if there are any funny CD jokes that are not visual, it is quite easy to be funny about the incongruity of either a man in a dress, or an apparent lady with masculine attitude, as long as they can be seen. As I have been toying with the idea of doing a stand up routine while dressed (although I probably won't ever get around to it) I have also been wondering about this.
The responses so far are not great, although I do like Stana’s “How many cross dressers does it take to change a light bulb? Three one to climb the ladder and change the bulb, one to hold the ladder, and one to take the photos”
can we do any better?
Are we funny?

There's been some good ones here, in Laugh Stop. Search "crossdresser", for example.

If you aerate your lawn by wearing 6 inch spiked heels, you might be a crossdresser.

When he asked the crossdresser if he could help the crossdresser replied, "I'm really worried about it. I need help." The concerned priest arranged for the crossdresser to attend a clinic and saw nothing of him for some months. One day, to the priest's horror, the crossdresser reappeared at church in a beautiful Channel suit. "But I thought that you were not coming back until you were cured", remonstrated the priest. "I am cured", the crossdresser replied, "I have a wonderful fashion sense now !"

Are we funny? Sure we are, unless we happen to be shaped just so.
Comedy careers have been based on "drag" - Milton Berle, Flip Wilson, Benny Hill, Dame Edna, etc, etc.
Whenever I feel the need for a good laugh, I dress up and look - really look - at myself in a mirror. My last was to make a video of me en femme. Funny? Sure - but I still liked the feeling of femininity.
No harm in laughing at yourself. Can I explain it? No - I just enjoy it.
Hugs
