My fear of shorts

Cathy(SO) and I were chatting today about the possibility of relocating to France and living a non rat-race life-style. Cath made a jokey comment about her maybe then being able to persuade me to wear shorts in the warmer climate. I replied "No way, you know how much I hate to show my legs ... I don't even wear shorts around the house".
Later, checking a website for tips on relocating from the UK to France, I suddenly recalled the "shorts" conversation and burst out laughing ... as I sat there surfing in my navy blue above-the-knee length skirt.
It's strange Cath didn't pick up on that and mention my mini-skirts ...
