The grave facts

There was this old man and woman who, although they stayed married, they hated each other intensely.
They used to argue, scream at each other terrible abuse and yell at each other into the night, much to the discomfort of their neighbours.
The old man continually shouted,” You old hag, I hate you so much that when I die I’m going to reach up and dig my way up out of my grave and come back and haunt you for the rest of your life.”
The neighbours all feared him because they believed he practiced black magic, and the old man revelled in the knowledge he brought fear to people.
To everyone’s relief he eventually died and after the burial his wife headed to the nearest bar and started to celebrate and party like there was no tomorrow.
Neighbours concerned for her safety said to her,”Aren’t you afraid that he may indeed dig his way up out of his grave and come after you?”
The wife put down her drink and said with a sly grin,” No way that I’m afraid of him, he’ll be digging for years, I buried the old barstead upside down.”
