Viagra or not

An elderly couple went to the doctor to see if they could re-ignite their love life.
The husband asked the doctor if he could prescribe Viagra for him, but the Doc was reluctant due to the old fellows age and health condition.
The couple kept insisting, so eventually the Doc relented and gave the old fellow a prescription for Viagra, but insisted that the old fellow take one tablet of a night then skip the next night, take another tablet the following day then skip the next day and so on. The Doc stressed the point that taking a Viagra tablet every day would be too much for the old chaps system to handle.
A few weeks later the Doctor saw the wife in the street and enquired about the old fellows well being.
The wife said,”Oh didn’t you know, he died last week.”
The Doc said,” Oh I am sorry, you see I didn’t want to prescribe Viagra for him at his age, but he was so insistent.”
The widow said,” Oh no Doc, it wasn’t the Viagra which killed him, it was all that bloody skipping on the alternate days which did his heart in.”
