Carol Ann
Everyone in the Mid West has just had a miserable spring - late snow, flooding, rain and constant Tornadoes. I hate to say it but the one thing that I don't see or hear coming from the people of the Mid West is whining. The attitude seems to be we are alive lets get up and rebuild or just get on with living. I do work for some companies out that way and I never hear any complaining, just the attitude that you have to do the best you can. Well I'm thinking of all of you out there and hoping that the weather improves and everyone recovers quickly.

Love

Frances, honey you hit the nail on the head. Just what good does whining do?
nothing. I too feel for the people in western Missouri and whom every had to go through a tornado, one minute you have everything you ever worked for and the next minute it's all gone. :(

Absaroka wrote:Carol Ann read the story of the flood and it's aftermath carefully. It was Noah, his wife and their kids. In the chapters after the flood it talks about how Noahs daughters got him drunk one night and had sex with him in order to get pregnant.

Absaroka
When Noah got drunk, he passed out nude and two of his three sons took his cloak and holding it between the walking backwards covered him while the third one laughed about his exposure, and he lost his inheritance. You are thinking about the daughters of Lot after his wife was turned into a pillar of salt when she looked back on Sodom and Gomara and there was no man around except him and they wanted to carry on the blood line for him

Carol Ann, I wish the people in southern LA, specifically NOL would take note of the way the Mid West deals with what God dishes out instead of waiting on Uncle Sugar to make it all better

Lori A,

Sweetheart unless you have lived there you wouldn't understand, I was there for 32 years and seen more local government corruption skimming money, kickbacks, and you name it it was done. Money for roads, schools, etc. just seems to get lost so nothing every gets done except for government jobs hike highways.

Every time it rained you had water in the streets, sewers are never cleaned out except on a very small scale. Yes I believe the people of New Orleans have a right to complain they pay their taxes and nothing ever gets done. just my $.02 worth.

[-X This is the 3rd time today that I was going to warn members to keep a thread on topic and the discussions of politics or religion to a bare minimum . . . is it that time of the month, or what?

Thank you, Kandis, for deleting your post.

Thank you, too, Lori A, for deleting one of your posts in this thread.

:-k Now may we please get this thread back on topic without the snide remarks??

Since the topic is weather, I would like to mention how strangely odd our weather has been in Abilene this spring. We have had yo-yo weather--that's what I call it. One day it would be in the 90's here and the next day it would be down to the lower 50's or less for a high. This oddity has been going on now all spring and, since I just moved here in Sept/Oct of last year and bought my new home, I am having to adjust to the peculiar weather as I am from Arizona and not used to such strange weather. Four days ago, it almost was 100 degrees in Abilene and the day after it was barely in the lower 60's.

So go figure?

That's Texas weather for you. If you don't like it, wait 5 minutes, it'll change.

Here in Houston the weather changes have been so odd it just continuously throws my sinuses into a frenzy. I have been dealing with this sinus crud for the last week now.. head all stuffed up, chest congestion, YUCK.

Back on topic though, at least the rain is supposed to be out of here by this weekend, I have an event to vend at that would be a wash out if it were to be raining.

New England has been unusually cool this spring. We actually turned the heat on a couple of days ago which is unheard of in May around here. Maybe it's making up for the warm winter we had.
