Of course this raises the following question: if it turns out that the majority of people in the area are morally bankrupt, than in a representative democracy shouldn't their elected officials be morally bankrupt as well? How else can they possibly represent their constituents' positions on issues?

Jeannie don't you know that a number of Black millionaires live in Greenwich. It's considered a far more diverse place than Darien or New Canaan.

Years ago my wife taught in Greenwich. She said the kids were had good manners and morals. For example if a child was rude to his servants often this lowered the other kids opinion of him.

Is there still a bar in Waterbury called Mecca's? I remember back in college in the 70's it was somewhat popular.

Hi Absoroka
Unfortunately Meccas is gone. It was a great little bar and restaurant. Dom Mecca used to play the accordian, sing, bartend and his daughter Mary Pat was the waitress and her old Aunt Molly the cook. She made fabulous Italian food and incredibly inexpensive. You could get veal and peppers with a cod salad for 6 bucks.
The neighborhood went downhill like most in Waterbury and they sold the building. It was Cobra's Bar for a short while until the cops busted the place for selling crack over the bar with your Vodka Gimlet. It was a brilliant marketing idea gone bad.
I'm doing fall cleaning today and have the house ripped apart. Petey and Marley are helping. Hugs.
