As a Viet Nam combat vet, I have always had pride in my country, flag and president. It has been with emotional affection the I have placed my hand over my heart at flag rendering events. Having been taught that the salute was not authorized when not in uniform, it will most likely take some time to learn to utilize the salute. But like a good old dog, I will learn the new.
