Virginia my dear,
No no, I send those birds your way as by May I stop feeding them untill about Nov.
Sweetheart you think you have seen birds wait until the cold and snow sets in. I have a photo album I keep of all the different birds I have photograph at my little feeder. Oh one word of advice buy the biggest bag of seed you can because honey them will clean you out everyday.
How want to see other critters?, next year plant a garden and you will be shock at what shows up

Thank you, ladies . . . we certainly missed everyone here, two months seemed like two years, but we're back and not going anywhere for a long time!
We also have another resident in our house . . . a field mouse or two.
The mouse moved in before we bought the house, and we've since closed all possible entry points. Now all we have to do is a catch and release . . . which will include relocation. We caught one already, it decided to go swimming at the Club Cadet (toilet) and nearly failed.
Certainly not what I expected to see at 4am!!
Speaking of critters ... the neighbor two houses up from us saw a black bear crossing his property several days ago, and Virginia had a coyote cross the road in front of her a few weeks ago.

SilverLady and Ms. Virgina,
Let this old gal give you a tip, use mouse traps baited with peanut butter.
Field mice have baby's faster then my rabbits and if you have anything outside they will eat the wiring on a riding lawnmower and what ever, clean them out before they clean you out.
Come winter check under the hood of your car or truck for nest as the manifold is a nice warm place. Trust this country girl.

Well! A little late but welcome back. As for the critters, well, I live in the high desert of calif. and We have our share of mice, rats, rabbits, squirrls, and little chip monks, not to mention a few snakes. But the ravens and hawks seem to help us out. Our cat takes care of the mice and rats, and our two dogs help out with the other critters. One of them is a choc. lab and the other is a German shepard. Be careful though, mice and rats will eat anything. they got up in our attic and ate through the security wires. Cost us a few bucks to get it repaired. Since then we've invested in several electrical devises called Riddex. Plug it in and it emmits a high pitch sound that critters don't like. Been several months now, and now critters in the attic.
Hugs,
Diana
