My son spent some time in an around Christchurch and he was visibly moved at the imagery. I too hope everyone is OK.

I was in Christchurch for a few months years ago, and we experienced mild tremors almost daily. The residents pay no attention to them, but are always on the watch for the "big one".

Hugs,

Lydia

I have been in touch with my family in NZ and they are saying that the images shown are the worst of it and that there is not really as much damage as the media is making there out to be.
I have been away from NZ for 10 years now but I can imagine how they are coping and if Methven is anything like it used to be they will be referring to this as "that little shake up" for a lot of years to come.
I was just happy to hear that nobody died and that all but one injury was minor.
Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often.
