It's Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Post by Kayla_H »

Is anyone doing anything to participate in the fight?

Me and my wife are going to try to do the "Making Strides Again Breast Cancer" Walk in Nashville on the 30th. We have had women on both sides of our family go this hellacious disease so we both want to help in some form.

I'm trying to find a walk in my area to participate in. The only one I've found so far is asking for a $35 entry fee. That's more than I can afford right now. I'll keep looking for other opportunities to help. My wife and I bought matching awareness tee shirts.

Back in the 60s my dad said that American Medical would never find a cure for cancer because too many people make too much money off of it.

Along the same lines, I read once where researchers do not ever want to run out of projects cause they then run out of money.

In the researching I have done, I have found numerious ways that cancer can be controled to go into remission (can't use the word cure) that are less distructive to the human body, but are fought by the FDA and big Pharm. Some of those date back to the early 20th centry.

I also find that certain clinics in Mexico and Germany have better remission rates than the US. (Remember I can't say cure.)

I was reading one dr who said that if you get cancer and want to beat it, get a passport.

I guess you know what my feeling is on doing a walk.

My wife and my father-in-law are in the medical field and they have said the same thing along those lines except that it is more-so the companies and investors that don't want the disease to be better controlled.

I would like to believe that a majority of the people that get into the medical field and service are doing it because they have a passion to help and improve the quality of humankind, but I know better. It's a sad truth that in the end it's all about the money to most of them.

Regardless, I want to do something to help fight a disease that has taken several women in our families.

breast cancer is awful and awarness is important don't get involved much in case bloody cancer research UK try to get me to donate again. my partner and I are against all companies that experiment on animals including cancer research UK. It is important to search for a cure but not by injecting healthy animals with cancer and experimenting on them then killing them.
has anyone seen the facebook cancer awarness thing?
