IMHO this should have got as much if not more publicity than Mr Jobs of Apple but here is my bit to try and even things up.

Put simply without his pioneering work, the Internet would not have been possible.

RIP Dennis Ritchie and a thank you from me.

I have been administering Unix servers since 1987, I still have my copy of Kernighan and Richie - The C Programming Language.

I owe him and his colleagues for my career.

I am a physically male person that likes to wear feminine clothes at times.
