For me the song that resonates the most is : You'll Never walk Alone

When you walk through a storm
Hold you head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song
Of the lark

Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams
Be tossed and blown

Walk on walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone

You'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone

I heard this song on New Year's Eve 2018. I was staying over at my mom's when Hailee Steinfled performed this song. Everybody by this point had gone to bed, but I was still up and just happened to hear this. It really has become my theme for 2018...

\:D/

Most Girls
Hailee Steinfeld

Some girls, feel best in their tiny dresses
Some girls, nothin' but sweatpants, looking like a princess
Some girls, kiss new lips every single night
They're stayin' out late 'cause they just celebrating life
You know some days you feel so good in your own skin
But it's okay if you wanna change the body that you came in
'Cause you look greatest when you feel like a damn queen
We're all just playing a game in a way, trying to win at life

Most girls are smart and strong and beautiful
Most girls, work hard, go far, we are unstoppable
Most girls, our fight to make every day
No two are the same
I wanna be like, I wanna be like, most girls
I wanna be like, I wanna be like, most girls
I wanna be like, I wanna be like
I wanna be like, I wanna be like
I wanna be like, I wanna be like

Some girls, like to keep their physique real private
Some girls, wear jeans so tight, 'cause it feels so right, yeah
Some girls, every day searching, keep the page turning
Sleepin' in late 'cause they just celebrating life
You know some days you feel so good in your own skin
But it's okay if you wanna change the body that you came in
'Cause you look greatest when you feel like a damn queen
We're all just playing a game in a way, trying to win at life

Most girls are smart and strong and beautiful
Most girls, work hard, go far, we are unstoppable
Most girls, our fight to make every day
No two are the same
I wanna be like, I wanna be like, most girls
I wanna be like, I wanna be like, most girls
I wanna be like, I wanna be like
I wanna be like, I wanna be like
I wanna be like, I wanna be like
Most girls, yeah

Most girls
Wanna be, wanna be, wanna be
Most girls, our fight to make every day
No two are the same
I wanna be like
Most girls
I wanna be like, I wanna be like, most girls
I wanna be like, I wanna be like
I wanna be like, I wanna be like
I wanna be like

This song sounds like it should be a cross dressers theme song.

Kyra wrote:Hey Sharon, don't forget the prelude to the song:

"Cold hearted orb, that rules the night,
Removes the coulours from our sight.
Red is grey and yellow white,
But we decide which is right.
And which is an illusion.

Pinprick holes in a colourless sky,
Let inspired figures of light pass by,
The mighty light of ten thousand suns,
Challenge infinity and is soon gone.
Nightime, to some a brief interlude,
to others the fear of solitude.
Brave Helios wake up your steeds,
bring the warmth the countryside needs.

Breath deep the gathering gloom,
Watch lights fade from every room.
Bedsitter people look back and lament,
Another day's useless energy spent.
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one,
Lonely man cries for love and has none.
New mother picks up and suckles her son.
Senior citizens wish they were young.

Cold hearted orb that rules the night.
Removes the colours from our sight.
Red is grey and yellow white,
But we decide which one is right.
And which is an illusion?"
-----------Moody Blues

Hugs,
Kyra

I got to see them perform the whole album live last summer. it was awesome.
Well, we all have a face
That we hide away forever
And we take them out
And show ourselves when everyone has gone

I want this played at my funereal

Deacon Blues
Steely Dan

This is the day of the expanding man
That shape is my shade
There where I used to stand
It seems like only yesterday
I gazed through the glass
At ramblers, wild gamblers
That's all in the past
You call me a fool
You say it's a crazy scheme
This one's for real
I already bought the dream
So useless to ask me why
Throw a kiss and say goodbye
I'll make it this time
I'm ready to cross that fine line
Learn to work the saxophone
I play just what I feel
Drink Scotch whiskey all night long
And die behind the wheel
They got a name for the winners in the world
I want a name when I lose
They call Alabama the Crimson Tide
Call me Deacon Blues
My back to the wall
A victim of laughing chance
This is for me
The essence of true romance
Sharing the things we know and love
With those of my kind
Libations
Sensations
That stagger the mind
I crawl like a viper
Through these suburban streets
Make love to these women
Languid and bittersweet
I rise when the sun goes down
Cover every game in town
A world of my own
I'll make it my home sweet home
Learn to work the saxophone
I play just what I feel
Drink Scotch whiskey all night long
And die behind the wheel
They got a name for the winners in the world
I want a name when I lose
They call Alabama the Crimson Tide
Call me Deacon Blues
This is the night of the expanding man
I take one last drag
As I approach the stand
I cried when I wrote this song
Sue me if I play too long
This brother is free
I'll be what I want to be
I learned to work the saxophone
I play just what I feel
Drink Scotch whiskey all night long
And die behind the wheel
They got a name for the winners in the world
I want a name when I lose
They call Alabama the Crimson Tide
Call me Deacon Blues

This one because of what's recently happened in my life.

Into the west, Annie Lennox. Lord of the Rings.

Lay down
Your sweet and weary head
The night is falling
You have come to journey's end
Sleep now
And dream of the ones who came before
They are calling
From across the distant shore
Why do you weep?
What are these tears upon your face?
Soon you will see
All of your fears will pass away
Safe in my arms
You're only sleeping
What can you see
On the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
Across the sea
A pale moon rises
The ships have come to carry you home
And all will turn
To silver glass
A light on the water
All Souls pass
Hope fades
Into the world of night
Through shadows falling
Out of memory and time
Don't say
We have come now to the end
White shores are calling
You and I will meet again
And you'll be here in my arms
Just sleeping
And all will turn
To silver glass
A light on the water
Grey ships pass
Into the West.

I loved what Peter Jackson did with The Lord of the Rings. This may sound like a heresy but in one way the movies were superior to the books. It was the way Jackson showed how this war affected the common people. When the people were fleeing to Helms Deep and were attacked, the fear they were feeling was palpable. When Denethor sent his cavalry to retake that city and they were marching out of Gondor the women were throwing flowers in front of them. That had me crying right there in the theater. Those men on horseback were those women's sons, brothers, fathers and husbands.

Anyways, I've been watching Ken Burn's "Vietnam" on Netflix.

Ohio- Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young

Denice, No it's not heresy at all. Peter Jackson gave us a visually stunning and very engaging masterpiece. I was a regular in the DVD player.

I think Jackson and his collaborators (great screenplay, stellar acting, fantastic set-pieces) do justice to the book.

I love the scene where Eowyn confronts the head of the black riders, who goes "No living man may hinder me....". So then Eowyn removes her helmet and says "But no living man am I! You look upon a woman....". It has always struck me as a wig-off moment in reverse (helmet off and it's a woman, rather than wig off and it's a man).

This is just about my favourite song:

That Kind of Love - Alison Krauss
Socrates: The highest wisdom is to know that you know nothing.

Bill and Ted: That's us, dude.
