Sorry Everone

Post by Carol Ann »

Just wanted to say I'm sorry for not being on the board here lately as here in Missouri we are smack in the middle of deer season. Getting up at 4A.M. and out in the wonderull outdoors, cool weather plum tuckers a girl out.
Next it's off to Brandson for Thanksgiving with the wifes kin so if all goes well I shall return after that. (--) Carol Ann

Carol Ann, didja' scare any deer? :) My nephew didn't, though he took a weeks vacation for the purpose! He's been hunting 4 years, killed one his first year, but thought he didn't even hit it. Found no spoor to track and went home. Found it a few hundred feet away next day. Now, though he plans his hunts, for some reason he just can't ever seem to shoot another. :)

Carol Ann, If Branson is anything like the Somkey Mountains, Gatlinburg at Thankgiving, we may not hear from you for several months. Traffic was so bad I could have walked the 10 miles to where we were going faster. Hope you have better luck!

Hi Carolynn, yep I got up 5 one evening but to far for a safe shot. I guess my problem this year is I don't know the lay of the land it's all new to me.
Now I will tell you a true story believe it or not :-k . Wednesday morning the wife and I were having coffee and I was looking out the back door which opens up on to a hillside. "Looking for a deer honey" yep could get luckie and shot one from the back porch. About 20 seconds later we hear 4 shots out front of the house, the fellow who lives up the road was coming back from town and as he was driving passed seen 3 deer on the hill on the backside of the house. In short he shot a 6 point buck in my back yard. We pulled it off the hill and laugh about it being in my back yard, later that day he sent me down a front quarter. That will probley be my deer for this season, (--) Carol ann

Good morning Virginia,
You are correct about Branson and the traffic, but the brother in law lives in Kimberling City which is about 10 miles from Branson. Only draw back is there is only one small two lane highway going into his place and it is always bumper to bumper. Ah yes the great smokie mountains, seems thats where everone from Louisana goes on vacation. (--) Carol Ann
