Who has seen?

Post by Jan W »

How many of you girls have seen the movie The Notebook?

I was lucky enough to discover it by accident when I had some time to kill at a mall cinema.

What a gem of a love story, perhaps the best I have seen.

Come on girls be honest - did you cry???

Me? what's the opposite of no?

If you missed it at the cinema grab the DVD!

PS I would have loved James Garner to have received an oscar for his role. (Pay special attention to his reaction in Miss Hamilton's room towards the end of the picture!)

Dear Beauty, get your pretty self down to the video store this minute!

Released last year, just out on DVD in Aus.

Just wait until you see Rachael McAdams in her beautiful '40's dresses and shoes! Guaranteed not to dissapoint. Slip into something comfy and have a lovely evening.

PS. Best grab a box of kleenex too!

Plot Summary for
The Notebook (2004)
The movie focuses on an old man reading a story to an old woman in a nursing home. The story he reads follows two young lovers named Allie Hamilton and Noah Calhoun, who meet one evening at a carnival. But they are separated by Allie's parents who dissaprove of Noah's unwealthy family, and move Allie away. After waiting for Noah to write her for several years, Allie meets and gets engaged to a handsome young soldier named Lon. Allie, then, with her love for Noah still alive, stops by Noah's 200-year-old home that he restored for her, "to see if he's okay". It is evident that they still have feelings for each other, and Allie has to choose between her finace and her first love.
