I have got to tell you about my pre-op friend Brandi. Last night she gave a presentation to some friends of a friend who where interested in what she was going through. These folks did not have a clue, not a clue! She sited birth defects and asked them to name some birth defects that children are born with and she got several, then she said that she to had a birth defect, she was born with male genitilia. Society, being what it is did not and does not look beyond the physical manifestations, i.e. club foot, hair lip, fused fingers, toes, etc, etc. but yet some babies are born mentally retarded which does not show up until later, so why can not a baby be born with all the female characteristics except she has male body parts? And she went on to say that fortunately in her case she can be made whole through surgery and she is most fortunate to have discovered who she really is based on her history. She did get into briefly the procedure that will take place, but her primary thrust was developing an awareness that we are all different and all of us have our own bumps and bruises and we need to be much more tolerant of those that appear to be different from what society says we should be.
Well there are six or seven newly indoctrinated folks wandering around out there now and if they tell a friend who tells a friend etc. Inroads!!!!
I am so proud of her!

AS I understand it, she has a friend who knew of her transistion and holds a kind of "Neighborhood Watch" group meeting and somehow at one of the meetings TG/TS came up and the friend said they knew someone who was transistioning and would they like her to come and talk to them if she would? They did and she did and BINGO!!!

Hi Virginia,

It's so great that she's coming out to the world and telling them that she's a real woman, but was born with the wrong sexual organs (birth defect).

I wish her well and think she's doing a great job. It's so cool that she has a great friend by her to be her anchor too.

Great presentation by Bandi !

It goes with the notion that the Y-chromosome is really a defective X-chromosome. By extrapolation, a male is a defective female.

I have just got to tell you this!!! The day after the presentation that Brandi did, two of the folks there were a mother and her 16 year old daughter. The mother called Brandi and said that not only was it a great presentation, but her daughter can't stop saying just how , "neat" and "cool" Brandi is!!!!!!!! I am just so proud of her!!!
