My Avatar
I really don't know where to post this, so if you need to move it feel free to do so.
I would like to say that the avatar I have chosen IS NOT ME I can't emphasise that enough. It seems that my wife and I got thrown off the other site for miss representation. Her avatar was that of Wilma Flintstone, and mine was a pair of ankles with one heel missing ( like the very one that I had here that the adminestrators removed so gratiously by informing me that it was not appropriate for this venue ), At this point I can't afford a digital camera, Its so sad that we cannot be afforded a little common courtesy by even getting a responce, Thanks for listning

Re: Announcement
What does this have to do with the GG partners of crossdressers identifying themselves as such? On the matter of avatars, however, the administrators have been a lot more lenient than I would be if I were running a message board. Scanning a photo of oneself and creating an avatar is simple and inexpensive. Fake avatars — at the very least! — should not mock crossdressers or genetic women, nor should they suggest sexual fetishes. In my opinion, such representations are inconsistent with the purposes of these forums.Bernice P wrote:I would like to say that the avatar I have chosen IS NOT ME I can't emphasise that enough. In any event I removed my avatar till I can get a camera I don't want any such problems here. Thanks for your understanding and patience.

These avatars sound just like a group of avatars from a web page that I created.
If those avatars in question were indeed so offensive (when all I was trying to do was be creative & offer an option to those who did not want to put their own pics online) and then be deemed "inappropriate" then I just have one word to say:
Ouch.
I would REALLY like for a mod to get back to me to calrify this whole situation. Why are those avatars so terrible?

What are “these avatars”? If someone chooses to have an avatar at all, why should it be a phony one? It seems to me that ideally, an avatar provides an accurate image of yourself, which permits others to know you a little better than they otherwise would. The information about yourself that you provide to others should be basically honest, and that includes the information contained in your avatar. Aren’t we making a mountain out of a molehill here? The issues are honesty and propriety.Lorna wrote:These avatars sound just like a group of avatars from a web page that I created. Avatars containing offensive symbols—say, a Nazi swastika—obviously would violate norms of propriety, because they would be hurtful to many forum members. To a lesser extent, avatars that mock others also are offensive. Avatars that put crossdressing in an unfavorable light, appealing to prejudices, are offensive as well. Let’s use a little common sense.
Take care,
Jamie Ann

Jamie, I was NOT addressing YOU. I was adressing the MODS, so please just butt out. My post does not concern you.

I don't know what you mean? Bernice was talking about another forum and not ours.
You're fine.

My question is - what exactly was the problem with it? That's all I wanted to know. All I wanted to do was share something creative with everyone, but apparently there's a problem with the av here too.Bernice P wrote:I was just commenting on how great this site is when you had a problem with my avatar you removed it and let me know that there was a problem with it
I hate to make a big deal out of this; I just want someone to level with me. I thought that a pair of sexy nyloned feet were simply "retro", but apparently, it's being taken as something else. And If this is not appropriate to discuss out in the open, then someone PLEASE just IM me.
All I want is an honest answer. That is all.

Hi Lorna,
Ooooh!
We don't allow shots of body parts. It's even in the Newbie Rules. Photos have to include a face even if it's blurred out. It wasn't taken as anything, the photo, it's just not an ok avatar for the forum.
This is from the Newbie Rules For The Forum thread:
Avatars:
Avatars must contain a face, even if the face is blurred. No partial body shot avatars, that do no include the face, will be permitted and will be removed immediately.

I didn't know you gave that photo to Bernice, that's why I didn't make the connection. Sorry about not getting it the first time you posted.
