Hello ladies,

I've been off the forum for a couple of months. I've had two family issues to deal with, one good and one bad.

First, the bad. My mother passed away February 10 after a 17-month battle with Ovarian cancer. She had a hysterectomy in Sept. 2004, but the cancer had already spread to her abdomen, and multiple rounds of chemotherapy were not able to stop the spread of the cancer. I spent a few weeks with her in January helping to care for her, and was with her in the hospital when she died. She was only 61 years old.

The good news is that my wife and I are expecting our first child. The due date is March 27, and we are keeping the baby's sex a surprise for now.

My mother knew that there was another grandchild on the way (my sister has three children) and her greatest wish was to live long enough to see another grandchild. Still, she got to see me get married last year, and even came to visit us in December even though she was very sick.

Her final days were not pleasant and we are relieved that she is no longer suffering. We know she is looking down on us from heaven.

I'll try to post more once the baby is born.

Sharon,

So sorry to hear of your loss. If there were words that could make it better, I would surely say them. My only hope would be that your new child on the way, be healthy and fill the hole left in your heart by your mothers passing.

Love always,
Elizabeth

My sympathy on the passing of your mother, but she is now free of pain and no longer suffering. [-o< I am sure she is looking down on you, and watching over your family, and sharing in your joy.

My condolences on the loss of your mother. And my congratulations on the impending birth of your child. Can't think of anything else to say about either but it is nice to hear from you again

Sorry to hear of your mother's passing Sharon.

I've been wondering how you were doing, and whether the baby had been born yet. Figured you'd post once it was.

Hi Sharon--
I am sorry to hear about your mother. She was not that old. It has been 12 years since my mother died, and I still miss her at times.

Expecting your first child? That's a big deal. Do let us know how it all goes.

My deepest sympathy to you Sharon about your Mother. I lost my own to cancer when I was 19 and she was 48 so I know what you must be going through.

Congratulations on your baby due very soon now. If it waits until the 28th, it can share my birthday with me :)

My best wishes to you both for the upcoming birth.

Susan
