the barbarian princess

Post by Absaroka »

In the thread about dietary preferences a comment was made about something barbaric which made me start to think.

I'm not sure but I think there was some reality show a couple of years ago featuring a vampire, a pagan, and a naturist among others. My impression was that the naturist was what we might consider a barbarian less the cruelty.

Anyway what I was thinking was Terri asked me how accepting would I be of a woman acting like a barbarian. We talk here a lot about getting in touch with our feminine side in terms of being more emotional, more delicate, more vulnerable and needing to be taken care of. And this is often what society seems to say women are supposed to be.

I suspect however that many men have another idealized woman as well. The barbarian princess who takes what she wants (including us of course) and who is not gentle, needy, or delicate in any way. With her we no longer need to worry about being the insensitive man who says the wrong things, forgets to bring flowers, wipes his hands on his clothes and so on. She is like a guy with all the abandon we would love to be able to have, but we get to do all that fun heterosexual stuff with her also because she is still a woman.

Of course like any fantasy it's a fantasy. I imagine that most of us if we ever met any of our fantasies we would run as fast as we could in the other direction because what we want and what we imagine we want are two different things.

I've always enjoyed the company of the woman who I posted about in the other thread tremendously but I imagine that this is because there is a lot of space in the relationship and that we are pretty platonic. Most men she has been romantically involved with find her intimidating, who knows maybe I would also. And she is not in reality the barbarian princess anyway.

It's a theme that makes its way into girlie magazines now and then ( like just about any idea you can imagine) but I am thinking of this in terms of the whole person, not just the sex fantasy.
So from the guys here, how many of us have shared those thoughts?

I believe I have just found my true title "Barbarian Princess" I like it!
Its sooo much more true to my nature than the boring ones I use all day: "Analyst" or "Mother"
Actually, it doesn't fit to a tee, I do want courtesy and attention to personal hygeine in my partner (and all others) but its a cute idea.
