I've been to Las Vegas only one time, a couple of years ago, but I didn't have a chance to really explore the city.
However, in just a couple of weeks (the last full week of April), Virginia and I will be going to Las Vegas and will be there for 5 days. During that time, not only will we be exploring the area and shopping (of course!), we will be participating with the Diva Las Vegas group as well as having our Commitment Ceremony - to which anyone from the Forum and the DLV is invited to attend.
Eureka - It's too bad you couldn't have put off your trip to Vegas - we would have enjoyed meeting you, and your sister!

I have been to Vegas twice. Both times for ren faires. The first time I never got to see the strip. I got to see a few parts of town that most people never see. Where the people of Vegas really work and live. I went to Michaels Crafts and did some shopping to finish a project for my guild. The second time I got to go to a show on the strip and see the tourist traps. I got to see George Carlin.

I have been going to las vegas since I was 9 years old and I am now in my 30's. I used to visit my grandparents who drive down in their RV durning the NY winters and my dad would send me down to be with them for about a week at a time. Know I go to visit them ( as they have retitered there) and go to a few conventions at the same time.

Although I have spent over a year in total in the South West USA I have never been to Vegas - unless flying over it counts. I am much more interested in the sites to be seen - we don't have any deserts here in the UK and they fascinate me. I remember seeing the Hale Bopp comet in 1997 from the middle of a totally dark Arizona desert - the tail covered 3/4 of the sky - that was amazing.
