What's a terrible shame is that my actual Cajun French is almost completely non-existent these days. For those wondering about a fais-do-do, that's Cajun slang for a great big dance. The term is used to hurry the children to sleep so their parents can leave home and get to the dance. :dancing:

Hi Carol Ann,
Did you know you STILL have to do under 30mph through Golden Meadow. Even with the new four-lane highway through there they only upped the speed limit to 50 on that little stretch.

For those who don't have a clue what I'm talking about:
Grand Isle is a tiny little fishing town that gets a whopping influx of tourists during the fishing rodeo season. The only way to Grand Isle, La. is through Golden Meadow. This tiny little town purposefully lowered the speed limit through their town "for safety" and they thrive on the revenue from the speeding tickets issued. Its a sure thing you'll never talk your way out of ticket there!!

Don't ya jus' miss dem bayou folks! Bring on the Conchon de Lait!

Hugs,
Kyra

Let me sum it up for everybody, as the old saying goes "you just have to live it to understand it".
