Not going anywhere.

Post by Elizabeth »

Hey girls.

I just wanted to let everyone know that despite the fact that I do not post here that much lately, it's not because I don't come here. In fact I still come here almost every day. I still love reading the threads and adding my two cents worth when I feel it appropriate.

It's just that I have come to terms with my transsexuality and I don't have much personal conflict anymore. My life has become very harmonious. Also, even though I originally thought transsexual and crossdresser were interchangable words, I have come to learn they are very different things.

Not that our feelings about our femininity are that different, I don't believe they are. I believe it's a continuum, with the occasional crossdresser on one end and the severe transsexuals on the other, with everything in between. I don't understand the needs of most crossdressers any more than they understand my need to never present as male. That means a lot of the threads here are really not things I understand well enough to have an opinion.

I participate in another transsexual forum where there are more people like myself, so more of what is said there, are things I feel comfortable stating my opinion about. I only seek knowledge. I look not to judge anyone, but only to understand myself better.

In short, while it may appear I am here less than I used to be, really I am here about the same. I just don't post as much. This is my home. Has been for three years now and I don't see that changing anytime soon. I am sure all of you know how much I love you and how you all changed my life for the better.

Love always,
Elizabeth

Hay girl you know I love you very much and still have that Christmas present you had for me under the tree a few years back. Now you don't think I would forget that do you?. Yes I can understand your feeling and also know there is a time to move on to bigger and better things, each of us has a path to walk.
So everyday when I visit I will know in my heart you are still here in your own way. God Bless you my friend as you continue your walk in life. ((G)) (--)

Well, I figured you were hanging around, as you've mentioned how this is your home forum before.

Glad things are going well for you, and Raven, and hope they continue to do so.

Hi Elizabeth,

Good to hear from you. I always look forward to reading your posts.

I think that I agree with you on the distinction between CD and TS. All I reallly know is from what I've read - mostly here - so I am unhampered by any hard data. However, I firmly believe that there is a quantum difference between CD and TS in a number of ways:

1. Behavior: The CD can vary along a continuum from a guy who just like to wear panties sometimes to being full time dressed, bewigged and be-madeup. Basically the CDr remains male, and can be a perfect husband, father and lover.
The TS is often less concerned about appearance and dress, but is convinced of being a female trapped in a male body. Crossdressing to a TS is a partial solution. There is this need to become a female identity.

2. Origin: The reason for CD is unclear, at best. No consistent biological characteristics can explain it. The probability is that it is a compulsion derived from psychological bases. This is another way of saying "we don't know." Physicians have a great word for this: "idiopathic".
The origins of TS are also unclear, but some biological factors can play a role, such as, prenatal hormonal effects, developmental anomalies (intersexes). Thus far, there is no good evidence of inherited origins, in spite of the current studies on the genetics of male homosexual behavior.

As in all things human, the distinction between CD and TS is often blurred, and how to classify individuals is difficult. Indeed, some think that even the attempt to classify is unecessary or destructive.

Sorrry Elizabeth, I didn't mean to hijack the thread of congratulations on your return. I guess the spur of the moment got into a sensitive spot.

Hugs,

Lydia

Elizabeth, it was nice to hear from you. I'm glad you're still around and feeling more at peace.

Lydia I pretty much agreed with what you said. It's a distinction that needs to be remembered even if it is blurry and unclear at times.

Elizabeth,

No problem here. I too post when I have the time. If my wife has a sales party then I have time to post, if not, then I don't, she expects me to spend time with her.
Huggs,

Carla
