Hi Ladies
I live in Connecticut. There is a snow storm heading are way. It's winter. Every local news station has these bulletins. "Winter storm watch. Channel 8 storm central . Five or more inches expected. Details at 11"
Crap!I was going to go to grocery shopping but freak that. Now every bozo will be out buying up all the bread, milk, potatoe chips and Pepsi as if they'll stranded in there homes for 6 months. By the way who the freak sits home eating bread and milk? Let me know.
I think the grocery stores are behind this crazy reporting and kick back 10 percent of there profits to the news stations on the day after the snow.
A big news story today is a mercury thermomater breaking in a local high school and they evacuate the school and the hazmat team comes in with they're hazmat suits . Then they interview mothers and they say" My little Jimmie was exposed to mercury! I'm gonna sue!"
Please! When I was a little girl my Mom broke about ten of those suckers while shoving them up my heini to take my temperature and I'm still breathing.
The best thing today is No child left behind. Like a teacher can get the whole class to read and understand on grade level. President Bush doesn't read or understand on grade level and he went to Yale! My wife Mini is a teacher and loves that bill. It gives the parents the right to move there child to another school if they are unhappy. Maybe President Bush should of been taken out of Yale and sent to Harvard. He would still come out a freakin' moron!
Good riddence! Get the heck out! Your freakin' kid is a little smart mouthed ahole who should be in the future criminals of America club. All the kids who are taken out Mini's school we later see in the police blotter and my wife will always say" I told you!"
There are people born with learning disabilities and then there are those who are just idiots. Kick em' out of school in 1st grade and let em'hit the streets. Let nature run it's course. The process of natural selection. It always works and has for millions of years.. Why delay the inevitable?
We first will have to lower the age of what we consider a minor to age 6.It will save save billions in court costs and it's even a bonus for the parents. They don't have to deal with there idiot, brat kid or even take him to soccer practice or a swim meet. If he gets the death penalty he'll be outta here by age 15. Sweet! Another menace off the road who won't be able to crash into you car drunk, have no insurance, suspended liscense, a stolen car and six outstanding arrest warrants. Go with the flow. You can't fool Mother nature. She knows best.Hugs
Love
Auntie Jeannie
PS To all you teachers who get blamed for people's rotten, neglected kids. You know I'm right. Your job is to educate the children and not to be they're parents.
I have to go. There is a press conference with The President and he's going to take some questions from the press. This should be good. George always seems to give an answer that has nothing whatsoever to do with the question. I love it! Yale pays off again! $160,000 bucks down the crapper.
The new treand....Hysteria

That's not a rant.
Hi Lydia
I'm in a great mood and even took out all the swear words. I'm shoveling snow at the moment and smoking a cheap cigar. It's a joke not a documentary. I got in big trouble for my Jesus Chronicles according to Jeannie. It contained the minutes from the Apostles Social Club meeting where they came up with The Son of God idea. No wonder it's just snowing on my house. Back to shoveling the driveway. Hugs.

I live in Connecticut too. It was a pleasant little snow storm and I enjoyed it. The driving did seriously deteriorate later in the afternoon but that's what happens in the snow. In general I think that the idea that you just sort of stay put during that sort of weather is a good idea. Why people feel they must go out is beyond me- what's wrong with a few hours at home? Or walking?
I don't think it's a conspiracy by grocery stores. I think it's a conspiracy by the weather forecasters.......The weather is just the weather. I don't know what the big deal is.
Of course convincing my teenage daughter to not run around in her new $1500 car was another story. I figure everyone was driving slow and if she dented it up it would be a learning experience but even so she took it as if I welcomed the snow as an excuse to curtail her social life.
As for NCLB you left out the best part. My wife is a teacher too. She hates NCLB. They call it no child left behind unless they want to be. Each state gets to set it's own standards. Therefore a state that dumbs down it's standards to the point where everyone passes keeps getting the money but states that set high standards that not all students met loses the money because it's schools are failing. Meanwhile another mountain of paperwork and testing is created and the money goes into school choice programs enabling all but the poor people to put their kids in private schools at taxpayer expense.
Everyone talks about how much better the private schools are. Well I have a friend who thinks that and put her son in private school. He is a very well behaved pleasant child who is having a lot of trouble learning to read at grade level. Not retarded or even ADD but just isn't catching on as fast as they want. So their solution? They can't afford to give him extra help so if mom and dad doing reading with him at night doesn't do the trick (and mom and dad doing this is probably the best idea, don't get me wrong) he gets kicked out of the school. With that sort of approach of course the school has a great record of achievement......Personally the only thing keeping me from thinking NCLB is a conspiracy to destroy the public school system is that I dont' think Bush is smart enough to figure this out.

NCLB sucks. My wife is a teacher as well. She taught at an inner city school where kids came from a variety of less than ideal home environments. Often the kids had to work to support their families, mom was a coke-addicted hooker and dad, if he was around, was abusive. How is a kid supposed to learn and be a good student with all that going on? But the school is held accountable for that student not learning. NCLB was a nice idea executed horribly. Take away funding from schools because test scores aren't high enough. That means less money for things like tutoring to help those kids.
NCLB is FUBAR.
