Although I do enjoy many different bands, and many different styles of music......
My all time favorite band is Journey!! *^^* *;*;* *^^*

(The quote I chose for my sig. is from the Journey song, "Why Can't This Night Go On Forever".........a simply beautiful song, yet no mater how many times I listen to it, still gives me chills)

It's so nice to see so many classic rock/Heavy Metal/New Wave/Alternative fans here!!

All my friends here in NY listen to the dance/hip hip/disco/techno stuff. I just don't follow that dance-mix-USA teenybopper crap. I can only take it in small doses before my ears are ready to pop. :? Give me music where the artists actually know how to PLAY an instrument.

Disco sucks. I'm a rocker chick!! I also love classic Funk...

Virgina , I'm so Glad you like big bands too. I thought I was going to be the only one, I've like the big bands since high school, yes they had high school back then. No jazz bands in school so we formed our own. Played just about all that was available , .. took lesson from Ed Shaunesy. drummer for the tonite show band. What an ego. Thanks for speaking up. Gotta love Neil and Rod too. ...........Kristen I have been a rover, I have been alone........ Once in a while along the way loves been good to me. September morn

Hi all,

What I'd love to see is Nine Inch Nails doing Johnny Mercer's Moon River or Daft Punk covering Chicago's 25 or 6 to 4!!! :P

One of my all-time faves (throughout the span of his entire career): Peter Gabriel. His soundtracks to the films Birdy and The Last Temptation of Christ (an album called Passion) are alone worth the price of admission.

Although I enjoy classic rock as much as the next girl, I have a weakness for more atmospheric, experimental music... Philip Glass, Brian Eno, Jan Garbarek, Tangerine Dream, Mark Isham, etc.

Lorna,

Bootsy Collins, George Clinton, Bill Laswell... bring 'em on, bring 'em on! Parliament, War, Magazine... "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)" It's all good!

I think I'd die without music in my life.

Love,
CJ

Hi girls,

My love of music really covers almost everything. But I will tell you what I have paid for, that should put it into perspective. Goo Goo Dolls, Alannis Morresette, Puddle of Mudd, Nickleback, Third Eye Blind, The Calling, Creed.

There is a huge new Punk music scene that is nothing like old punk, but very good. And what is now call Hardcore Rock, and EMO(for emotional rock) I like Dashboard Confessional, Chevelle, Brazil, Thrice, Thursday, AFI, The Marz Volta, Sparta and Alexis on Fire, just to name a few.

I like pretty much everything that you would hear on a Classic Rock station, although I am completely burned out on it.

There is a lot of country music I like, but I am not a big country fan in general. I do like a lot of the older country music like Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Crystal Gayle and what would be called "The Country Standards" Mostly from playing it in bands. I am also a Huge Marshall Tucker fan and have most of thier records as well as The Charlie Danials Band.

I love classical although I don't know a lot about it. I have some Strauss and Bethoven, but they are on vinyl and I have not listened to them in over 10 years.

Love always,
Elizabeth

Yea, Elizabeth, Jennings and Cash, I think are some of the best in country. How can you go wrong with the outlaw men in black.
Good hearted woman, Ramblin man, Jennings was a good guitarist, basic country, not like these country guys today.

I'm surprised to here someone mention Jennings, I like his style.

Amelie,

A lot of people don't know that Waylon Jennings was the guitar player for Buddy Holly. His musical influence was beyond country music, and I think his style showed that. But more than that he was a gifted song writer.

Love always,

Yea I heard of this about Jennings. I think the story was, that Jennings was bumped off the plane by R. Valens and had to take the bus. So You know the plane crashed sparing Jennings life. I think this what happened, I'm not sure.

He was bumped off by Buddy Holly. Buddy had laundry to do so he wanted to get there early. [This is what I've read somewhere . . . I think it was in Rolling Stone.]
